Hello to all,

Could someone please tell me the exact details of the Vietjet "Cadet line training programme?"

The details are on the Vietjet website and this programme is open.

There's no dealing with a third party, a middle man, it's direct dealings with the airline.

I'm well aware this is a pay to fly scheme, there's no dealing with a third party, a middle man, it's direct dealings with the airline.

i read stories of agencies (middle man) asking for 57K Euros and korean s paying 100K.

But nobody has actually answered any of the fly to pay scheme questions, correctly, all the responses are not clear.

***What i would like to know, if a person was the holder of an ICAO Frozen ATPL and an A320 type rating (simulator and written in license),
what is the exact total cost of this programme when dealing with the airline direct, as on the Vietjet website?

Also how many hours can a person log as a F/O under this programme?

Just looking for correct and honest answers, from people that have first hand knowledge?

I been to Vietnam for holidays, it's quite okay.

Thanks

Lots of middle men involved ! It's a scam and a terrible airline where you will not get employment elsewhere with VJ on the cv

Lots of my erstwhile colleagues from JPA are at VJ this year. Don’t hear any complaints from them, in fact most of them like it there...

Vietjet vs Jetstar Pacific

so guys I haven’t heard anything good either for Vietjet or Jetstar. On paper both airlines seem they offer great salary and upgrade opportunities. So what is the reality about them? Please advice.

What's the Vietnamese medical like or can I fly on my FAA medical? I have color vision issues so that's why I ask. Current B737 Captain with 500 PIC and 1900 on type looking for a change.

The CAAV has its own medical that includes Ishihara color vision test. Your FAA medical is not taken in account, you have to pass the CAAV one.

I can pass the FAA color vision test, but I interviewed with Eva and was offered the job, but couldn't pass the medical for color vision reasons. Wondering if the CAAV is more like the FAA or are they as brutal as the chinese?

jsfboat you won't get a simple answer to that here, for the simple reason that none of the medical regulations are written in English and none of the CAAV doctors speak English. A few things like BMI<30 are well known, but the rest they seem to make up on the spot

They have failed guys recently for missing teeth, "polyps in the sinuses" that were completely undetectable by western specialists, etc.

And no, you can't do the medical beforehand, you have to actually arrive in VN to start your new job and THEN get sent for the medical

If you're unemployed, then nothing to lose, but it would be very very very very unwise to quit a secure job and come here with a known medical issue, on the hope you'll get through

Also there's no B737s here in Vietnam, you know that right?

I think he is reffering to the 200 737MAX that VJ has on order. Wait until the airplane comes and it starts flying before making any move. If you happen to have actual time on the MAX you'd be hired anytime, no need to rush.

I was hoping to get on when they start hiring for the Max flying, if they ever come. But I have a lot of NG time and 500 PIC on it, I'd even come as an FO. Just miserable with my current employer.

Cadet Pilot

Hello Everyone,

I applied on the website for the cadet pilot position.
Vietjet contacted me and asked for my docs etc?

Nothing has been mentioned about money so far..

I do have previous Jet experience and a total time of about 800 hours..

Any Comments in what's coming next etc?

Are you sure you are applying for cadet pilot position not DEFO? it is a pay to fly scheme for cpl holders with low hours

You can't join as a "cadet" without paying massive $. It's absolutely definitely pay-to-fly

You can't join as experienced FO unless you have 1500 total, 500 on type
