More Draconian Rules To Oppress Indian Pilots !

The Indian aviation regulator DGCA is planning to implement a draconian set of rules which would permit company doctors to visit a pilot's residence to check upon him if he/she reports sick for a flight. They also warn of severe action like revocation of licence if it is found that the pilot has allegedly" faked" the illness !!! This not only betrays a primitive mindset but also exposes an unholy nexus between the regulator and the unscrupulous yet powerful airline lobby in India.

An online petition has been launched against this. Please support this whole hardheartedly , no matter where in the world you reside , so that the Indian Government is forced to reverse this oppressive and highly unsafe set of proposed regulations . These would adversely affect air safety where ever an Indian registered aircraft maybe ,in any part of the world :

While I have no doubt that the DGCA will implement this new rule, I would question their ability to enforce it. You don't need to be on 'death's bed' to be unfit to fly. What about fatigue? What if you just lost a loved one and are not mentally fit to fly? Thank you for sharing, it is a good reminder of why I keep refusing recruiters who espouse the virtues of working in India.
