Sightseeing in Sri Lanka

Hi, I'm not 100% sure where I should've posted this so please forgive me and direct me.

I'm a low hour PPL, going on holiday to Sri Lanka in February. I'm wondering if I can hire a 152 and fly around the island with the missus.

Isn't this simply hour building? - I'm wondering if it might be cheaper over there to do. Please offer any knowledge/ experience of doing this similar as it's not a simple google answer.

Many thanks in advance.

First of all, there is nothing cheaper in Sri Lanka than elsewhere. You will experience that during your holiday. I am afraid that, if you find a plane that you could rent, the bureaucratic obstacles and the price will keep you off doing that. Especially if you want to log PIC time.

Please write here if something has changed

If you want fly in Sri Lanka, you will have to get permission from the Sri Lankan Airforce, its called the NIB clearance. It takes about 3 months and they do a thorough check on you. Also All the airports are controlled by the Airforce. So if you want to fly for pleasure you need to get another airforce clearance at least 1 hour before planned departure time.
