China West A320 FO Spots

Is it a bit unusual to see a Chinese carrier advertising for what appears to be NTR narrow-body FOs ? I thought most of those slots when to locals.

Their website is a joke.

Pilots – Overview

Fly high with Westair

Being a pilot isn’t your everyday job. It can be demanding and challenging, but with Jetstar it’s exciting and enjoyable too. We’re looking for pilots who thrive in a team environment, living and breathing our values with a cool head and mature attitude.

The Jetstar Group of Airlines includes wholly owned Qantas subsidiaries operating from Australia and New Zealand, and partner carriers including Jetstar Asia, Valuair in Singapore and Jetstar Pacific in Vietnam.

We are currently expanding the A320 and A330 fleet across the Jetstar Group which has opened up exciting international opportunities for motivated and professional Technical Crew.
They copied and pasted JetStar's website??

I was also surprised by this, usually TR and time on type required by all Chinese operators.

The copy and paste job on their site is disgraceful!

And the Ts&Cs listed Seem too good to be true?

I'm guessing the usual crap rosters, unstable, excessively demanding sim sessions, big divide between locals and ex pats etc, all present at China West Air?

Could it be their training pipelines aren't covering the demand ?

If they actually mean 1,000hrs total time (200 of which can be helicopter), that's really a sea change, right ?

The T&C listed on Pilot Job - China West Air - PILOT CAREER CENTER

150,000$ for 1000 TT with 200 in helicopters???

But is this really a sign that things are changing in the market or just an HR mistake

West Air if i am not mistaken , is part of the Hainan Group.

Emirates used to be 3000hrs medium jet, now if you've got a licence and a pulse they'll look at you.

PropDude,

If the ad is an HR mistake, it's a rather extensive HR mistake. :-)

I looked back through 10 days of the numerous and perpetual pilot ads by Chinese airlines and found few ads for NB FOs but the few I found required 250-500 hrs in type.

That's what made the West Air ad stand out from the herd.

If the ad as published is legit, I'd expect they'll be inundated by applicants.

I applied, mainly out of curiosity.

Got an automated/blanket reply that my CV and documents would be evaluated and I would be contacted shortly.

When they see my experience maybe they'll realise they set their bar too low

PG,

Your assignment is to sneak up to the front lines and report what you see there. ;-)

Do they pay for your type rating?

Are the living conditions as bad as two years ago?

Really looks like a prank! And yes, like an another person said, the official website is .cn!

How can you be sure that is legitimate? You have to be really desesperate to send them 1000$ so easily.

I don't even know if they pay for type rating...

Thanks for posting arvida.

Alarm bells ringing!

I have yet to receive anything further. I don't think I want to now!

If I receive similar, I'll try to negotiate!

Like, send me the round trip tickets and I'll send you the 900$.

But all in all, it seems like a scam ?

HOLY SMOKE !!!!!! That took an ugly turn in a hurry !!!

I see now that much of the stuff about sending money to an account is on their website. I don't know anything about that step in the process.

Has any other expat in China experienced a similar application format and found it legit ?

RUN AWAY ?!?!?!

Scam with a capital S, China has enough local fo's, not enough Captains.

You really think with 250 hours in a cessna you will get the golden ticket to China and 100,000 USD...
