Flight preparation...???

I heard from some guys, that here in Asia you have to do some "flight preparations' at home.

May someone explain this just a little bit please?

I'm thinking about move to Asia, but still have some doubts

Only in China as far as I know. Preparation H as we call it. 30 minutes on the computer before each flight going over route, weather and notams. This is followed by 5-10 questions mostly system related for the aircraft you fly. 80% is the required score or you will retake the test. This is most likely from the roots of Chinese aviation being from a military background. The other strange thing is FO's must stand outside in the elements to monitor the fueling operations every time. Very strange. TIC
