Thai Lion Air gave up the ATR operation today and I can't see this getting off the ground either under the current climate.

They offer a generous annual leave of 11 per year for FOs and 12 for Captains... Oh sorry, I omitted the units after the numbers. Well, it's not weeks! That's right - 11 or 12 days annual leave! Less than the number of public holidays in Thailand - which of course you wouldn't get off as a pilot anyway!

But don't worry - after 3 years service with the company (if it's still going), FOs will get 14 days leave a year and Captains 15 days.

Despite having to pay 50% of the type rating cost, they require a 5 year bond of 2,220,000 Thai Baht (US$69,000 / €50,0000 / £40,000).

Medical insurance of some sort. Bringing a family? You will need to pay for their medical cover yourself.

Their selection days are only planned a couple of weeks or so before the day with subsequent changes to the date, time and venue after the candidates have been invited and made travel plans. Successful on day one? Please hang around for a few days, we're still trying to arrange sim slots. It might be 3, 4 or 5 days after day 1. The good news is, in addition to cash, most payment cards are accepted when you pay for your medical as part of the selection process.

Terd, thanks for that I wasn't interested but now even less. So you cough 50 percent of the money, are they going to refund you if you do the 5 year bond time?.
2.2Mill plus Looks like a Penalty clause which good luck to them getting that Back after say 2 or 3 years Prove that is financial damage to your Airline after you been earning as a line Captain plus you have already coughed up 50 percent of Training cost, Who dreams up this type of agreement.

Yep love the B777 but Defo not that despo, I will stay were I am tks.

FYI info KMI, I got 34 days annual leave, Medical paid and Housing allowance 85,000 THB pm on top of salary.

fish

It will be interesting to see how they get around the DCAT when they are hiring foreign crew with no experience on type. I am pretty sure seconding 777 crew from SIN will be no problem though if its true.
Chai Ja is that bondage guy or whatever his name is, he still calling people?,

They are taking over SQ's 777 right? From what I know they are starting off with 1 aircraft initially. Any idea what is the eventual fleet size?
