According to their news, they already sold 80% of the tickets for the next 6 months and only 20% left for walk in customers...how to shut down with this type of pre-booked flights?

What does the Flying Fox say?
Nothing really, they have no AOC, they have no aircraft, they have no traffic rights, they are riding piggyback on Sriwijaya AOC, their traffic rights and their aircraft. At best it is a travel agent who wants you to believe that they are codesharing with their Indonesian Partner, but, you can not codeshare if you do not have a code to start with.
It is a wet lease by a travel agent who wants to be known as the next thing to aviation wonders.
Pathetic attempt to get into the aviation world without credentials.
All the best.

No idea what they mean by code sharing, though Flying Fox claim they own the route Ipoh - Medan. They say they will have their own airplanes next year, with their own livery. Pilots position only open to those with 1000 hours min.
The price of RM400 per way is fixed, regardless of seasons, that means buying early or last min makes NO DIFFERENCE. It seems strange to operate an airline that way and this is the first time I see a FIXED price airline.
Maybe it is a new strategy in fighting premium MAS, hybrid Malindo and no frills AA.

I have something for you to read.
1. The Bilateral System?how international air services work
2. Freedoms of the air - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
3. Code Share Fact Sheet
4. Codeshare agreement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As you will see, you have to be an airline to codeshare with another airline.
Flying Fox Airways is not an airline.
Then, on traffic rights, there are several.
Please note that although these provisions are called "freedoms", they are not automatically granted to an airline as a right. They are privileges, not
rights.
First Freedom
The right to fly across another country without landing.
Second Freedom
The right to land in another country for purposes other than carrying passengers, such as re-fueling or maintenance.
Third and Fourth Freedoms
They stand together as the basis for commercial services, providing the rights to load and unload passengers, mail and cargo in another country.
Fifth Freedom
Sometimes referred to as "beyond rights". This freedom enables airlines to carry passengers to one country, and then fly on to another country (rather
than back to their own).
Sixth Freedom
Not formally part of the original convention, this refers to a state's right to carry traffic between two other countries via an airport in its own territory.
Seventh Freedom
Also an unofficial extension, this covers the right to operate stand-alone services between two other countries.
Eighth Freedom
Another unofficial extension of the treaty, this is sometimes also referred to as "cabotage" rights. This refers to the carriage of passengers and cargo
within the borders of another country.
And, read #2 above again.
You see, what the Flying Fox is telling you is not correct, and i put this mildly.
As for having and operating their own aircraft, they must have an AOC first.
Cheers

This is flying fox reply on their facebook when queried about the codeshare...
Gan Yung Chyan :Then you should specify to the media that it is a code-sharing flight agreement and not you own the flight routes. Sriwijaya Air has flight to Ipoh from Kualanamu according to its network map.

Flying Fox Airways : Yes, and that flight is operated by Flying Fox Airways. Our press releases and interviews have made it very clear that we are partnering with Sriwijaya.

Gan Yung Chyan :It is the same as leasing Sriwijaya Air's aircraft to operate Flying Fox Airways' flight. Sriwijaya Air earns from leasing the plane to you. By the way, Sriwijaya Air's web-site has not yet indicated Ipoh as scheduled destination for ticket sale.

Flying Fox Airways: Of course we are, that is what a code-share agreement entails. This is no secret. Flying Fox Airways owns the flight routes and we operate as our own airline in partnership with Sriwijaya.

essentialbus,
Sorry, I understand completely what you posted, thanks. I was just quoting what Flying Fox tell the folks of Ipoh regarding their "airline" status.
They are not hiring any tech staff at the moment, just a receptionist whose duties include helping with customer service, online booking, secretarial and other duties.
You are absolutely right about them but I don't understand how our DCA allows them to be called an "airline" where they have nothing remotely close to an airline.
Lets wait till December 13 and see what magic they conjure out of their hats.

Salute! Flying Fox grounded on the basis that the airstrip is not big enough for 737??
17000 tickets sold to date...refund amount to RM6.8 mil or estimated USD2.125mil. Would they run away?
