I agree with Wooby here, some pilots will sell their own mothers just to get what they want. Over the years in the airline industry ive seen it all. Pilots are never united, its always just me me and me. And the airlines, hire some of these a#@holes to become managers. Coz they know just how to screw, f#*k and make you come back with a 'please sir, can i have some more'. This industry is doomed, ive seen the slide downwards some years back. Sorry to say, but i pray i dont live to see the day where the pilots end up being just a driver.

P2F pilots should never be welcomed in this region, be it from Europe, especially India. Glad that DGCA indonesia came out with 250 hours on type ruling so it shuts the door for Malaysian, Indian and European vying to take flying jobs from local indonesians.

Pardon the ignorance of two young hopefuls by the name of syukri and fareez. It mirrors the situation in Malaysia where the poor rakyat thanking the government for giving them RM 500 cash aids while raping the whole countries of billions. Once you started flying and scrutinize your monthly paycheck for income tax deductions, only then some sense will start kicking in about the whole thing of taking money from the middle income groups and give it to the hardly poor people where their vote bank representing the largest chunk of country's population.

Business and politics are inseparable. Very hard not to drag politics here. To be fair Air Asia, Malaysia Airlines have their own political games too, each hold some people's stake. Malindo is no different, it has to do some lobbying, so does the incumbent.

The presence of Malindo is good for all of us. Better terms are in the offing. It will give Air Asia run for its money, Competition is always good. I'm sick and tired reading the news about Fat Bangla complaining bout his waistline getting bigger.

It has been rumoured that the fat one from air asia is employing those in management from Malindo. If this is true then this is the first shot fired in what is sure to be a war. Prices of tickets are going to fall. Air asia will adopt a Ryan air approach by dropping fares and taking a loss hoping that Malindo cannot sustain the losses. So now it will depend on who has the most money in their war chest.

All of this translates into lower fares for the public.

Wooblah.

Niazi, Good guy? Yes. Someone who knows his stuff? Yes. A Politician? No. To be a manager you have to be a good politician. By the way, how and why did he get screwed by Mas?

malindo

some people says, putting Niazi as DFO malindo was the biggest mistakes...from internal sources, some element of disagreement already happening amongst the managers ex MAS there...

if you break bond you have to pay back (years left)/15 * 350k.
equivalent to buying your way into slavery.

Haha.. I think most airlines should join the BCA.... (Backstabbing, Corrupt Alliance) instead of One world or Star Alliance.

Its seems all people are interested in screwing everyone over until there is no one left...then lets called its another failed project lah... All the talk by pilots to politicans on how things can be better by employing this person or that person, or do things this way or another... at the end of day, there is no right person or right way...Just keep it simple.. YOu just need a YES or puppet person, the BOSS is the politicans the 51%.. Just pick a person or persons.. stop the bull.. and fly. AVIATE NAVIGATE AND COMMUNICATE... right now we are at stage..... Flatulence..

Whatever crew you pick to command Malindo..exMAS, Transmile, DCA Officals etc...all will jump ship if there is another airlines, open up, and comment how CR*P Malindo was, it was a sinking ship etc...we are all just glorified gold diggers and pimps.... who is the next JOHN i can SUCK a gold bar from... so just pick someone who can write and talk aleast ICAO 4. and nods and off we go.

I really hope Malindo will succeed....it can be a good or great airline...if there are not too many sticky fingers etc.. I really hope it not another "remember that time, that an Malindo nearly succeed, but due to ........ had to call it a day"

there are some many failed projects (hobbies) in malaysia: from 1995 to 2002

Aero Malaysiana
Amrose Air
Asmara Air Services
MasBe Airlines
Mofaz Air
Pacific Air
Premier Airlines
Silverline Airways
MALINDO????????????

And the ones that give up after a few touch and goes... 1997 -2005

Adorna Airways
Asia Tenggara Aviation Services
FlyAsianXpress - FAX - Renamed as AirAsiaX
Mafira Air Charter Services
Pelangi Airways
Saeaga Airlines
Wirakris Udara

There will be some Cadets willing to pay the 35-40k USD. there are some desperate people who have been sitting around with 250-300hrs for many years, they gonna be selling there Ibu. for a place... if not.. there are hundreds of foreign pilots (larangan perkataan) will be happy to... sorry DCA I used the forbidden words..

Sorry about the rant...PMS....and the anus is getting a bit raw. thanks for asking..

Well said jetJock and The Rage.

WTF has happened to this once proud and nobel profession. The denigration in integrity equal to the denigration of the pay scales and work conditions.

Wooblah.

It defies logic starting an airline in the back yard of one of the most formidable low-cost carriers, with probably the lowest unit costs of any airline in the world - Air Asia.

The business model and positioning that Malindo have put forward makes them more of a threat to MAS than to Air Asia in fact, so perhaps they know they will not be able to compete on price alone...or maybe they don't. If they do then the begging bowl will be out repeatedly as getting into a price war with AK will not end well.

The low cost airline business model is easy to describe on paper but much harder to put into action in real life. Do the Malindo management have the pedigree to do this? Lion is reputedly poorly run and survives on much smaller margins than say AK so their way of doing things may not translate well in Malaysia.

I foresee AirAsia making life very difficult for these guys regardless of whether they launch it or not.

fish

Tony F was in BKK recently to meet the Primeminister. Main discussion was he wanted to lower the fares to get more people to fly.

I think Malindo is just a front to enable Lion Air to operate international flights on 9M registration for their 787's because they have problems flying to Europe and the USA due to their safety record.
