A 320 Job in PHL

RP - C000:

Just for curiosity, why there's no use if an applicant (like insert_name) apply for the FO post? What's your point - elaborate PLEASE!

insert_name:

Check the website. Good luck.

airlines in Philippines will not hire an expat FO... no point in wasting time... expat pilot jobs are for capts only

Expat FO's

There are several expat FO's flying both the 320 and the turbo prop. Get your fact straight before posting.

Perhaps what RPC-000 meant was that airlines in the Philippines don't hire expats on 'permanent' contracts. Airphil are currently 'using' 5 or 6 dash8 capts from a uk operator for a few months and have hired pilots with dual nationality e.g fil-am, fil-german on the a320.

Likewise and correct me if I'm wrong, Cebu only hire expats on contracts for a320 and atr. Although I heard they usually renew the contract.

Insert_name... worth a shot if your interested in contract work and have time on type (and are current).

I tried Airphil Express, Cebu and Zest.

Cebu are looking for (expat ok) contract FO, and local capts only right now.
No news from Airphil Express.
No news from Zest either.

I have sent many emails, and phoned the HR departments a few times. Maybe my persistance will pay off next time they are short and taking contractors again.

!

@ Insert.
I want to wish you good luck in trying to get a job in the PH with the local Carriers.
They have taken and are taking EX Pat Pilots. both FO's and Captains at this moment.
Don't mind a person like RPC000, she's just a sour grape who really knows nothing about flying. And it seems she will detour anyone in a negative way that's not affiliated with the company she works for, which is Alpha Av.
It's just a low blow from RPC000 and it shouldn't reflect the personality or image of us in the Philippines and the airline industry.
Hope all goes well for you.

stormiscoming why are you abusing me ?

cant you see from the comment by insert_name himself that he got no response from most of the airlines.

All I said that airlines will not hire expat FO as there are plenty well qualified locals available all type rated on A320.

Most airlines are looking for expat Capts only and that too for short term contracts. Once this shortage is met they will be replaced by local Filipino Capts.

why get personal with me ? what its go to Alpha Aviation ?

RPC 000
Your sensitivity amuses me.
If there is someone, Filipino or expat, who wishes to try his luck in the Philippines, then let them. No need to send that person negativity even before he's tried the local carriers here.
I happen to know there are many opportunities for Filipinos and expats here in the Philippines.
Your priority is for the Alpha Aviation cadets only.
So stick to focusing your strengths and abilities in marketing and employing those cadets. Leave everyone else alone.

I was just at Pan Am and did the A320 TR. Good program for people with some decent time. Mostly all of the people there with less then 500tt were having big problems getting the TR.
The oral is not a problem because anyone can memorize the right stuff. The problems were in the sim mostly being way behind the airplane and aircraft control. They were spending thousands on extra training.
Good program but they are not going to spoon feed you anything you must know your stuff.
To answer your your question about jobs, only 2 of the low time people found jobs but it was with Citilink in Indonesia and they paid for the job.
The A320 TR doesn't equal job.
Good luck with your quest.
