Air costa has recruited only very experienced first officers ( mainly with ATPL and lot of jet/turbo prop time ) and a few captains ( from kingfisher , navy, air india etc ). Apart from this they also have a set of expat captains.
As for fresh CPL holders, I think it will take another one year befor they even start looking at their resume.
The bad news is that , with the market being the way it is, they have drastically reduced the salary . Also they are asking for 5 cheque for 5 lakhs which will be retured 1 every year. In short , they r putting a bond of 25 lakhs for 5 yrs.

There seems to be some recruitment still happening in the UK.
I wonder how secure Air Costa will be as an employer?
Have they got a lot of money behind them? I hope so as the first year or two is always critical for new start up airlines.

Hey guys...any update on whats happening with the launch of air costa. July gone, Aug nearing end , 2 aircrafts parked in vijayawada and and still no news of launch. No news of any pilot recruitment too. Plz share any info if anyone has any.

thats a great news for all the unemployed people of aviation.. But as there are speculations that 5/20 rule may b waived off... can these regional airlines also go international??? As per the article, it says they will add ten more E190s by the end of 2014??...

Air costa is going ahead with full steam. Their 3rd route has started and I heard the 4th route will start next week. Also heard that the 2 190's are arriving very soon. Looks like there will be recruitment of pilots soon. Guys keep your fingers crossed. I hope these guys have enough money to last till the time some foreign airline picks up a stake
Anyone has any idea of a regional airline from Gujarat? I heard there is some talk with either Embraer or Airbus

Wow. The last post here was in Oct 2013.
Does anybody here know if all the pilots recruited by Air Costa have been flying. Or have they recruited in excess and making a lot of them wait in bench.
