I have received a similar intimation from CX, although I wasn't called for the interviews that were held earlier in Feb12. So it seems that there must be a second drive/batch to hire more SO's.

I assume Cathay is inviting more applicants for the AE-SO programme. The HR dept. may have accidentally sent emails to the candidates who sat for/passed the Stage 1 interview in Mumbai. I'll get that confirmed tomorrow.
I really don't think there is an issue with the 250 hours requirement at the moment. Pilots from Cathay's traditional recruiting grounds may be declining the offer which could be the reason they're coming back to India again. This is just an assumption and it will be good news for the pilot community in India.
bond - We did the Stage 1 interview. Cathay sent us the email 3 weeks ago clearly mentioning that we have been shortlisted for the Stage 2 interview in Hong Kong. Why do you think this could be the end of the line?

Hi All,
I got the same email too, I applied in June 2010 and this is the first time i get an email from Cathay in any sort.
Guys the only thing comes to my mind that Cathay is in urgent need for SO and they decided to contact or give a chance for every successful applicants with 250 hrs or more.
At the end of the day i think its a good news and lets hope that we wont have to go under along wait before we get a call for 1st stage.
thanks and goodluck all

If you think you can spend anywhere between 40,000 and 60,000 INR (on air tickets, food and accommodation for 3 days), you can select either Singapore or Hong Kong as the preferred location. You would get the interview dates at the earliest. The next option is India. I reckon it isn't a big deal for them to come here and conduct the initial interview.
As per the email, the initial interviews will be arranged in the major cities in which the flights of Cathay Pacific operate, subject to the sufficiency of eligible candidates. Selecting Mumbai or Delhi would be the best option.

Guys, I think as many of our mates from India had got the mail (specially after so many months of application) that means they are planning to conduct the interview in India soon(after may). Cause in one mail from cathay they said me that they will contact me if the recruitment will happen in my geographical area. And now they did, that means they are coming to India.
BTW guys do I have to mention the name of the city also where I prefer for interview or just INDIA will be fine?
