i dont think rk bali is enough..i did rk bali for this atempt and i got more than 10 questions on human performance...on hypoxia, hperventilaton, hypothermia, lack of sleep, use of morphine,stress...
out of the above all the topics are not covered in rk bali...so i think we need to study human perfromance from elsewhere
also got couple of questions on aerodynamics and a question on glidepath and 3 questions on the formation of icao and tokyo convention!

Shiva,
I understand your frustration but unfortunately, the DGCA syllabus contained all the topics that came up in the papers.
They were surprises in terms of the way the questions were framed but strictly speaking none of it was out of syllabus, because they have made the syllabus very general and all encompassing.
I felt the same way as you initially when i wrote my CPLG nav and regs papers this weekend (my first attempt btw). But when i looked at the syllabus i found that they had mentioned all the topics in some corner of the syllabus even if only in 2 words.
for example i find it ironic that on the one hand they expect me to know all about FMS, EFIS, ECAM etc and computerised flight planning and on the other hand they are asking questions on mercator chart plotting of radio bearings, a process which has been phased out in real life for years.
love it/ hate it/ dont care about it, whatever we may feel, DGCA is the way it is and will change very slowly. the less we try to fight it, the less frustrating it will be for us..

i totally agree with you. i also read the syllabus.its just that you dontexpect them to ask 10 questions on human performance when the paper clearly should focus on regulations in india...
i dint get questions on the annexures, or aircraft acts instead i got questions like when was icao found n the conventions..i mean 3 questions were they necessary...
but i agree with you...this was also my first attempt and i got a taste of dgca
cheers
all the best!

Is FMS, ECAM AND EFIS under navigation syllabus??? the syllabus was last updated on 19th June 2011 and I don't see those three topics anywhere in it. Have they updated the syllabus again lately?

@aviator86 and others
the syllabus is written in a general manner, made purposely vague and includes everything under JAA both old and new.
DGCA has done it on purpose so that they can use all the question banks they have and dont have to discard any Qs. We all know DGCA officials dont know the F of flying and dont give a F*** either.
Forgive my rant but the point im trying to make is, please read the syllabus thoroughly, make sure u dont miss any topic mentioned in it and prepare everything you possibly can. They can ask anything they want and it will be within syllabus because the syllabus covers everything.

Hey guys, Just curious to know, why do DGCA organize Air Regs(ATPLG) exam, i mean(Correct me if i am wrong) most of us have wrote the exam(Regs CPLCG/CPL) for conversion to/getting Indian CPL, whatever might be the case, other scenario is, if you have a foreign ATPL, to get an Indian ATPL, you write Regs (ATPLCG) exam. So what exactly is the need of Regs (ATPLG) exam

You Don't.
The CAR states that if you have given the regs paper in the CPL exam you do not need to in the ATPL(G).
Only guys sitting for conversion and FATA have to appear for the regs at the ATPL level.

Any idea when the results will be out? Is it the same 40 days from exam date?
Also, in the Navigation ALTP paper questions on INS & IRS were asked - about 5 to 6 questions, if I'm not mistaken INS and IRS don't come under the Navigation syllabus although they are under the Radio Aids syllabus that is given in the DGCA website. Not like that would make a difference, yes? We still won't be awarded marks for them ?
Thank you.
