I have no idea what the DGCA is trying to prove to everyone. About the UID cards, that factor remains to be seen. I wonder if the State Govts. would issue UID cards to everyone before Jan 2012.

Well all you had to do was check the DGCA website everyday .

Even if I didnt post it someone else would have sooner or later...

Its good practice to read the DGCA website everyday as you never know what kind of rules and regulations or procedures these clowns come up with and how its going to affect you .

Looks like those who want to write their CPL or ATPL exams from Jan onwards will need a UID number

Next what, do we need a Ration card to have inflight meals or Driving licence to have CPL licence( Pilots are made to look more as Truck drivers here by media.....) ???

DGCA is surely trying to be as humourous as they can forgetting they were already laughing stock in international civil aviation authority with their complex and outdated procedures.

i think its a good idea that dgca has come up with this rule.it is only going to help us.this will help grab the pilots with fake documents.and also dont forget dgca always comes up with deadlines only to be extended later on.so just hope the state govt. issues the adhaar IDs on time.

so cheers!!!

it isn't a bad idea guys afterall!!!!!!

apply for your UID adhaar card to your nearest government aided schools.

Its good idea but how can this will help any Pilot with DGCA CPL ?
How can it help DGCA to find Fake documents or Fakers ? - They can not even sack those official's who are still busy making money & many agents of DGCA who took bloody money from pilot's at various stages and by this UID you think they can identify a person who is having FAKE documents...

DGCA and its rule's are always ridiculed just like this new one. It's August now and deadline is Jan 2012....it took 9 months for Govt. to start this UID program from the date of filling forms & verification's which were done by visiting homes of each and every Indian citizens starting sometime back in November.....so will this ADHAR UID be provided to Citizens before Jan 2012 to satisfy DGCA...only time will tell till then DGCA will keep screwing new Pilots with stupids guidelines and old ones with random circular's with jaw breaking rules.

Amen !! God save Indian Pilot's.

true i agree to all of that
but even a little help wont be any wrong
the adhaar card is going to register all your data on its central server so you dont have to keep showing original documents when needed ofcourse i am talking of the personal documents and not aviation.
trust me i have heard of pilots submitting fake 12th marksheets.
and dgca is gonna extend the dates..it has a long history in that.

cheers

Well here is the reason why they want a UID card

NEW DELHI: Unscrupulous students will soon find the "Munnabhai" way of becoming a pilot and threatening passenger lives closed for them.

Pilot aspirants would have to pass an entrance exam where their aptitude would be tested before being allowed to join a flying school. Also the number of times one can appear in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) exams would be capped along with the introduction of biometric ways like iris scan to ensure that candidates don't send anyone else to appear for the exam in their place.

A government panel set up to examine reforms in DGCA's examination and licencing system has come out with very strict suggestions which, if implemented, promise to plug the massive loopholes exposed by the recent fake pilot scam. It begins with reforms from admission stage. At present anyone with money and physics and maths at Class XII level can join a flying school and buy his or her way to getting a commercial pilot licence.

"Considering that only candidates who have an aptitude for flying come into the profession, (the panel) recommends an entry level examination prior to giving admission. (This) should cover an aptitude and psychometric test," the report says. It suggests that the state-run Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udaan Academy should identify an agency for this exam that would be conducted for the DGCA.

At present there is no restriction on the number of times a student can appear to clear the DGCA exams. But now it has been recommended to have a cap on the number of attempts. The government is now going to examine the records of students from school level from the moment they get admission card for exams. A number of cases have been detected where students wrongly claimed to have maths and physics at Class XII level.

guys this would really help in eclipsing all the 'fake' entities...
The AADHAAR or the UID application involves giving your personal data along with your biometrics(all 8 fingerprints, 2 thumbs' impressions, iris scan, etc..) so that no one other than your own self can represent you at any of the event(s)..
I already applied for the UID card along with my family..its been 2.5 months now,but still haven't recieved it yet...
If any one of you are planning to apply for it, well do it now. It takes anywhere around 4 months to get it in hand after your date of application..

All the best!!

^^ they are not F***ing with you.
For once they have been considerate and have made it easier for you.

EID is the number you get when you apply for Aadhar at the enrolment centre.
It is proof that you have applied for Aadhar.

So basically the DGCA is saying that all you need to do is prove that you have applied for Aadhar card, even though you may not have the card itself yet.

The Hindu : News / National : Blow to Aadhaar project as Bill is rejected

UID in trouble as Home Ministry raises questions | Aadhar project | Chidambaram | The New Indian Express

relax fellas ! This project may not even kick off for all you know !

What a bunch of fcuking retards !! The ruling government and other political parties oppose a shabbily managed and implemented project, and on the other hand the DGCA has already considered to make it mandatory for pilots to have a "UID".

Incredible India indeed !

I believe its a good move. DGCA for a change has made a good decision. We get a registration number right away. Check your nearest center and go apply for it.

A notice from our Chief Pilot at Jet mentioned a cut off date for ALL national pilots to give in the UID enrollment no & date to the company before 26th Dec so the same can be forwarded to DGCA for all license renewals.

After going through these hassles of obtaining and filling in the forms, getting a date at the centers, standing in line to enroll, (all this in between hectic flying schedules), now one reads in the national dailies that our honorable members of parliament have second thoughts on UID/Adhaar Cards, doubting its effectiveness as also the prohibitive costs involved, after a year of the scheme's launch!

Case of Andher Nagri Andher Raja ?
