Hi guys,

anybody knows Cebupac chef-pilot or recruitment e-mail?

Or probably somebody here can PM me about my question.

I am Boeing 757 First Officer,
with TT arround 3000, (1500 on 757)
Hold ICAO and FAA Licences.
Initial flight training was in USA, 2007
English ICAO 5 (by RELTA)

Currently flying as FO,
charter flights including SE Asian destinations,
as Sanya, Bangkok,Phuket,Denpasar etc.,
(Asian experience)

Taking A-320 type rating in USA shortly, to
get it on my FAA licence.

Any chance get contract with
A-320 type rating in FAA Licence,
but no actual time on it?

Appreciate your help.

Great captain contract, but SIC worst in the industry as far as terms and conditions. If you dont have time in type, then you need a local passport.
No training just a PC with no warm up or possible remedial if required , due to the fact that they have lots of applicants , at least thats what assistant chief pilot said. Great place to get your currecy back as well,
good luck

Basing

Airphil Express is hiring and you can base in Clark, Cebu, Manila, and later on in Kalibo.

Bases....

Interesting about Airphil, looks like a good company. CP is basing in Manila and Cebu city. It makes zero difference what contract company you go with as once you are there, they have no control over your basing, schedule, nor days off. The only thing the contract companies do is take a piece of your pay and then after six months, you are just as if you had hired directly. Two of the guys that just finished IOE and are on the line, requested Cebu city and are moving there Nov 1st. One is a direct hire and one is a contract hire. No basing in Clark for the expats. They are short pilots in both bases, so you'll probably have a choice.

Expat thinking on ATR 72 CA new cummuter contract

I have been in the process of filing all the info required to work there. I have started the process with Contractair and decided for the 12 month option. I wish I would had read this forum before. Anyways, I need some legit info from someone currently working as CA on the ATR. I will be getting a long term leave of absent and I am looking for a place to make money. However, I do not want to work in hell. I currently fly into places simmilar to there so I am used to the crappy controllers and bad airports. Need the real deal with regards to this new contract not the previous one. Here is what Contract air has offered. IS THIS TRUE!

SALARY
USD 8,500 NET
per calendar month. Salary is paid at 70% until completion of line Check (for a maximum of 4 weeks). Expat’s will be tax liable in the Philippines but the amount will be shouldered by the airline via a local Philippine bank account. Remaining balance to complete USD 8,500 net will be remitted in USD to the off-shore account.
Additional USD 1500 travel allowance per rotation. (Only available on the 12 month direct contract)
COMMUTABLE ROSTER

.
Two week off-roster period will start immediately after first productive flight or after 6 weeks, whichever is later.
All days off while on 6 weeks on in line with local flight/duty limitations.
BLOCK HOURS
At least 85+ flight hours a month. This can be increased up to 100 hours a month in line with local limitations depending on flight crew rostering and requirements.
ACCOMMODATION
The airline will provide effective hotel accommodation for the first 4-6 weeks during the ground school period. After which the pilot will receive an accommodation and transportation allowance of PHP 80,000 on a monthly basis to be credited directly to the pilot’s Bank Account.
BENEFITS
Uniform provided
Travel Benefit. Six (6) free of charge domestic or regional flights for the duration of the contract.
On time Performance Incentive. A Php 1,000 credited to an employee’s account for every month the airline hits the on-time performance target of 85%.
Group Life Insurance. As a regular employee, you will be part of the company’s group life insurance with a coverage equivalent to P2,000,000.00 with double indemnity for accidental death.
Travel Insurance. The pilot will be entitled to an additional travel insurance coverage of P 1,000,000.00 for the duration of his/hers employment.
Medical Plan. The pilot will be enrolled in the airlines Medical Plan for a regular, private room in case of hospitalization with coverage of P 150,000.00 per dreaded disease.
Sick Leave. Twelve (12) days SL entitlement for one year.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Provided by the Airline while in hotel accommodation
AIR TRANSPORTATION
Cebu Pacific will provide and pay for the costs of economy class air tickets for the pilot’s to travel from their home residence to the base residence at the beginning of the Assignment Period and from the base residence to their home residence at the completion of the Assignment Period.

flybean, that sounds about right. Sorry you signed up with contract air, they don't do anything but take your money. any promises are exactly what the direct hire gets but they get full pay from the get go....

The controllers aren't crappy, just not as highly honed as in other large international airports and of course, they aren't nearly as grumpy either and a lot more relaxed should you screw up. Bad airports? Don't believe everything you read. Come with a good attitude or please stay home. Most of the complainers have left and we can now have breakfast without listening to the constant whining.

Cessna, we land the A320 on 1800 meters and we also did that in other countries in my past life so, I really don't think 900 is that short for an ATR. I don't fly one but have about 5,000 hours on other turbo-props and although it's short, it was doable....

Can you safely land the atr on a 900 meter runway?

Yes, It is and ATR! I am used to those conditions. I fly the caribbean and we land at places where the RWY is 1000Meter at 21320 kg. Oviously. you have performance limitaions such as head wind and tailwind, etc.

I have no problems dealing with that. I think the biggest problem is when you get someone that has never done that before. I just want to confirm all the bad rap and good rap on this forum. Iam strongly considering going there. I want to have a good time. You know, point A to point B having fun! It seems that wou get work pretty good there. It is ok as long they are straight forward with me. No contract violations and money when is due. I have a good attitude and if I go there it is to make money and work.

Any ATR 72 CA at Cebu Pasific? Please advice

Do you take a ground school? I hear the sim ride is cold turkey for the PC? Any truth to that? What are the destinations for the ATR for Cebu Pacific. Current schedule while in the working roster? 6on and 1 off? Please some one tell me, ATR CA please. PLEASE BE HONEST.

Flybean, frankly you're only losing a few bucks for the first month and then you're up a running with the rest. If you have some buddies that are interested, have them PM me as I don't want to put company info on a public forum. I was hired directly through the company and personally believe its the best way to go.

I can tell you now. Overall, Cebu Pacific is the best contract out there if you consider lifestyle and pay. The only drawback is that the job doesn't appear to be long term as the minute they have enough local pilots, the expats are gone. They are very hesitant to renew contracts so a word to the wise, come for a vacation, enjoy your time here, but don't quit your day job.

The flying is good, fun, and mostly hassle free, considering MNL is an overloaded airport with one main runway. For an international airport, that means delays. I've been flying into this airport for almost 15 years and it takes patience and extra fuel.

If you come over here with a good attitude and with the thought that you truly are on a contract and not for the long term, it's the best.

The ground school is short, the sim is as you said, cold turkey and boom, a hard core check ride. But, as with all checkrides, they push you but the goal is to pass you. I have heard that on the atr, the checkride is actually in the airplane so really, how hard can that be. Dual engine failure? Not.

You'll get at least one day a week off and probably two. Check online for the ATR destinations, they are fun and sporty.

I have a few Buds flying the atr and they all seem happy. There's only a couple really short runways and the rest they share with jet traffic so not a worry. I think there are only a handful of expat atr pilots so don't be surprised that you don't receive a reply from one.

Good luck!

Jaz.....

I am quite surprised by the comments which Jaz have made about contractair

I have just completed a 6 month contract through them. As a pilot who has actually been represented through Contractair I am sure i have far more knowledge into what support i get in my contract instead of these direct guys. Trouble is there are a lot of rumors and some like putting things into others heads. I love the flying here and the local are very friendly.

My advice flybean is to make your own mind up and stand on your own two feet. I am happy here and have been very pleased with the support i have received.

Unlike others contractair have actually come to visit us and spend time with us. They have helped make this contract better. I will always go to them first when looking for a job. Sorry Jazz but difference in opinion here!

Bob, it sounds like you're a happy camper with Contractair, and that is great, really. For the couple thousand dollars that Contractair extracted from your salary for their trip to the Philippines from the UK, how exactly did you benefit by a better contract than those that were hired directly. In talking to several of the Contractair pilots, other than meeting in the bar for a few free cocktails once, did anything really change for the better for you that wasn't experienced by everyone?

In their website, they blatantly lie and say that Clark and Cebu is a base of choice when we both know that there isn't a single expat based in Clark and the majority of ATR pilots are based in MNL.

Sorry Bob, it's not an opinion difference, it's a fact.

Jaz, your comment
For the couple thousand dollars that Contractair extracted from your salary
This is where it becomes an opinion. How do contractair deduct anything from my salary when i was paid the same salary as the direct guys. I think if you are going claim that you are making factual statements, then you must state the correct facts!

Any way good luck with your application flybean. Enjoy the Philippines because it is a beautiful place

I currently live in Puerto Rico an love it. The Philippines has the same weather and nice people for what I hear. I hope I am given the opportunity. As long everyone gets along great that is good thing. We have a good working eviroment here at SJU ATR Base. A small base but we are a very friendly group. That makes all the difference. Thanks for your inputs guys. If hired, I will give a shot for 12 months. Thanks again.

Cebu Pacific, CAE to open Philippines training centre By:
07:04 21 Dec 2011
Source:

Philippine low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific and Canadian training equipment and services provider CAE have entered into a joint venture agreement to establish a training centre in the Philippines.
The centre in the Clark Freeport Zone, which is located northwest of the capital city Manila, will be operational in the third quarter of 2012.
The facility represents an approximate $40-50 million joint investment, said the partners.
The joint venture will initially cater to Airbus A319/320/321 series pilot type-rating training requirements and will provide "wet" instructor led type-rating training for Cebu Air's current and new-hire pilots.
Moreover, the centre will offer initial, recurrent, conversion and jet indoctrination training to other Airbus operators.
The partners added that it expects the academy to provide training for other aviation personnel in the future, such as cabin crew, dispatch, ground handling personnel and cadets.
The academy will be developed in consultation with CAE's training facilities design team. It will initially be equipped with two Airbus A320 full flight simulators and have the capability to expand by two additional simulators.

ATR 72 vs. ATR 72 500, same type but discualifies you for job?

I just got turned down bu Cebu Pacific because I have less than 300 hourPIC in the ATR 500. However, I am checked out for the ATR 42-300, 72-212, and 72-212A. most of my time is in the ATR 72 212. 8000 housrs and 2600 PIC. do not get it. Well, the gig was not meant for me. Their loss.

Salary. Contract companies take a cut out of your first months pay " per flybean's previous post ". No opinion, just the FACS, Bob......

Local pay is more than adequate for the Philippines but Ask:

How hard do they work for that pay..... That's the right question and you're not going to like my answer so I'll let one of the Brothers answer that.

Can you safely land the atr on a 900 meter runway?
You definitely can. MPH is 900 meters. Even the A319 can land inside 900 meters. Landing distance required at typical landing weight of 55,000 kgs Config Full, no autobrake is only 750 meters give or take, zero wind and 50 feet over the threshold.
