Info about Tiger Airways (singapore)

Are they recruiting?
Are they expanding?

How are T&Cs?
Is it possible to save money living in singapore?

Is it true that there is a hotel with a swimmingpool at the top so that if you swim too far you will fall from the roof?

and what about prospects of upgrading to the left seat?

thanks

If you have experience, yes
No, Shrinking
crap
No
Yes
Good, except they wont because you will take 40 sectors and they need captains desperately so they will hire a DEC from a plonker outfit who will then require 60 sectors and a safety pilot for good measure.
A great bunch of people at the sharp end run by an absolute bunch of tossers

tiger needs for sure capt but i really wonder if they are still hiring f/o.
i've had a sim and interview for a f/o position last september with J.D. the head of training.
i passed the assessment.
J.D. even told me that he wanted f/o like me with experience for a quick upgrade.
now 2 months have elapsed but i did not receive any call or email.
thk you tiger for this way of doing with candidates who had to pay for their ticket and hotel in sin.

OK

So for which particular greener pastures are the resigning captains heading?

Self sponsored rating

Can anyone provide info on how to apply for the self sponsored route as mentioned on their website via the pdf regarding salary structure. They mention an option for non-rated FO's, but there is no application form for such. The online application clearly states rated and 500hrs on typw for A320.

Any idea's......thanks in advance.

27 Captains have left or are leaving - mostly for Hong Hong Airlines on the 330. However, many of them are hanging around there with no flying due to lack of F/Os and line trainers. F/Os hanging around with little flying due to the above and aircraft sitting on the ground due to lack of crew.

DECs being hired due to being generally quicker to get on line than RHS to LHS upgrades. However, Tiger has always upgraded its own F/Os and two have finished recently and two more are starting soon. Only F/Os with 1000 hrs multi-crew time and 500 hrs A320 are now eliigible for hiring so no new type ratings for the moment at least. How long that lasts is another question as the market hots up.

A number of F/Os rumoured to be leaving for BA and Monarch in the UK sut too many there now anyway so not likely to be looking for F/Os yet. Some Capts and F/Os who were going to leave now staying - possibly becasue JD has changed his mind and is now staying. New CP not setting the world on fire - ACB please come back - we need you. Overall things beginning to stabilise and hopefully will start to improve. As stated in an earlier thread, great guys and ladies at the front end. Its the top "management" that sucks.

T and Cs are same as all LCCs - crap. SIN is a great place to live but expensiv e compared to HCM,KL or Jakarta. Not the best job in aviation but not the worst either. Nice aircraft and command opportunities at 3500 hrs. More aircraft coming so more commands. That's why I'm staying - plus the flying standards in the cockpit are top-class.

Let me analysis carefully.... It is like a chicken and egg problem!

Case Study No.: 1
Captains left or leaving -> {causing} -> aircraft on the ground -> {causing} -> FO hanging around

Case Study No.: 2
Captains staying but lack for FO and line trainer -> {causing} -> aircraft on the ground

Stupid requirement! It is going to be tough!

There are better job prospective airlines offering to train non-type rated (on A320) pilots. And for those who are A320 type rated, they are looking for greener pasture.

That means, Tiger Airways had hired non-Singaporean aircrew. No wonder Tiger Airways has ****ty issue of problematic (expat) pilots jumping boat! Hah... ...

Singapore is way too developed country/city! It is the ranked number 8 as in most expensive county (among Asian countries) to live in! Read news [right click here]!

they can only hire non-Singaporeans can they??

a Singaporean with that kinda of flying hours are probably with SQ, why would they go for Tiger?

self-sponsored Singaporean license holders will hardly have that kind of hours

ONIE!

Chances for you to be on the airbus is none. so just accept this fact.
If you even get in to the Airbus, your are going to start a problem they way you ruined everybody on the Dornier 328 and Let410. I don't think VP would allow you to destroy
ung samahan ng taga airbus. beside airbus is for good people only especially in tiger.
