bond
I hear people saying that Air Asia tries to jack you on the training bond if you leave - i.e. charge 150%, don't pro rate it, etc. How exactly can they enforce this bond if you are outside the country and not Malaysian? Do they collect it in advance?

That's my point, if they are trying to screw you on the bond, and they sue you in Malaysia, so what? If it hurts when you go into Malaysia, then just don't go into Malaysia. For a non-Malaysian, this doesn't seem to pose much of a problem.

I hear that AA is back to testing how much stress the landing gear can take on landing.....another hard landing in LGK...3.2g. Also guess the capt of the 330 that hit the aerobridge in Hangzou must have forgotten to say LEFT CLEAR !
The so called dream team running flight ops seem to be doing a great job....they talk about the airforce guys and how bad a job they did...the current bunch don't seem to be doing to good a job.
Maybe its all the time spent drinking in the PUB thats screwing them up. Alot of the pilots are so unhappy that its not funny anymore..
When will they ever learn!

Hi All
Only "Silly" people will think that the management control the outcome of an incident TOTALLY. Hard Landings--->Management CALL? Hitting an obstacle--->Management CALL? X-AirForce/Cadet/X-Other Airlines/GA or Corporate Pilot or Not does not matter. When it happens, it happens. We can only try our very best to be a professional, mature pilot practicing the highest level/standard of SOP, company policy, CRM and airmanship. Statistically, we CANNOT eliminate incidents/accidents/failures. We are trained to minimise, control and safely manage situations as far as possible.
Hence, I CANNOT agree with the statement "blaming" certain quarters of X-AirForce or Non X-AF. Remember, when you are out retired as an AF Officer or Other Airline company, you are OUT of it! You think you will be accepted in again with the same rank or seniority? If your company goes down, you ALL go down. THINK about it guys!

Keep dreaming 'Dream Team" ............
If they are so good, they won't be REJECTED from the sandpit in the first place ......
Should we call them "REJECT TEAM" ?..........

Agree with you not all in the DREAM TEAM are the DREAM TEAM. Rejects or not is a different matter. People come and go. Make mistakes (hopefully learns from them!) and move on. Some get disappointed and also move on etc etc etc. What I'm trying to say here is it doesn't mean by returning from the sandpit means you are a reject. So many pilots/engineers/bankers/teachers etc move about in this challenging world every now and then. All of them have their own reasons. To brand others as such is inappropriate.
1Wingnut,
Suggest you read any training bond carefully Before signing. If it doesnt mention 150 percent you are not liable, A solicitors letter will sort that one. If it doesnt mention prorate be careful cos you can fight it and very likely will win. if you serve 2 years out of 5 for example its totally unreasonable to ask someone to stump up the full amount if they want to leave for better things. The practical point is if you can just go off then go off. If not refuse to pay and let them get told by the courts its not reasonable in due course, I doubt it would go that far. The idea of this type of Bond is to try and stop people going off too quick. Its worse in my current Company and frankly People will leave whatever, Management should try to figure out Why they are leaving instead of acting like Pakuda.

A 737 AK FO came over to my outfit after tendering his resignation. However, he did not complete his resignation notice and came over for conversion training. Halfway through the training, he was pulled out to the management office, and was told that he can't be hired.
Rumour has it that TF had a bone to pick with this FO and decided to call the new management's office, threatening to take legal action. Of course, balls banged and the hammer fell on this guy.
Don't mess around with TF!
