Rhumb Line Track
what is the rhumb line track from A (4500N 01000W) to B (4830N 01500W) ?
Hey,
I had the same question on my 20th June test this year and i tried a bit of triangulation
But, i flunked so dont believe me.
You are going 10W to 15W so its bound to be a westward bearing. Second you are moving north from Lat 45 to 48.30 so its bound to be in the range of 270->360.
dlong(10w->15w) @ 45N is 5x60xcos45=218nm
Distance along 15W from 45N to 48.30N is 3x60+30=210nm
So you get a right triangle with base 218 and ht. 210 (since 15W is normal to 45N)
Tan inv(210/218)=48degrees.
So your true track is 270+48=318.
In the test, 330 and 315 were among the choices-so i checked 315.. dunno whether it's correct.
If you get something more accurate def lemme know.

Get your DGCA lic thick & fast ....jump in there and get a 320 job .....get it done fast because no one knows till when this Indigo CAE circus will last long.
As long they dont introduce tech specific exam and skill checks for those converting in India then i should have my license by the end of the year

@ AntiMatter
tan inv (210/218) = 43.9* = 44* (approx.)
so, 270*+44*= 314* = 315* (approx.)
There you go, marked your calculation mistake in red......this is the closest yoiu can get to 315.
And yes, your answer was right...!!!!

CASS test
Hi, can anyone help me with Indigo-CAE's CASS test. I have no idea what it is about and I haven't found anything on the internet.
Please if someone could guide how to prepare for it and what are the excercises covered in that test. Thanks.

You should receive a handbook that gives you a list of all the exercises and other guidelines from CAE prior to the test
To get an idea what the test looks like take a look at this video
