Is Philippines the best place for Professional Pilot Training?
Philippines is a good place to fly, however, if one is thinking to obtain career pilot training then he/she must consider a lot of things. Here's the lists:
1) Government Bureaucracy. If one can handle the hassle and inconvenience of the immigration department, civil aviation authorities, national telecommunication agencies, and others then you're cleared to go. Due to the slow processing of documents then one should understand that his / her training is impossible to be completed in just 6 mos. So, don't fooled by any advertisement.
2) Quality of training. High standards, cheap price, 6 months training, etc. are common advertisements to market students. However, one should be careful about these since most of it are not true.
Should you think Philippines is the right place for your pilot training needs then think twice and consider the above factors.

Since most of the students who don't have any aviation background are not aware of it then it's much better to put that on this thread. But there are few schools that are good, however, the government issues still the number 1 factor affecting the training programs.

Hi Bro I got my cpl from Philippines.
as my experience and some other fellow pilot whom i met there.
Philippines is the fraud no.1 in aviation.
they will take full money and not give flying and even CAAP(aviation authority)
knows everything and will not take action.
If we give complaint also ultimately we will end up loosing licence.
SO be aware of flying in philippines.

I suggest that you go to Embrry Riddle, Flight Safety Academy, or Oxford Aviation should you need professional pilot training. These schools provide a straight forward costs rather than those cheap but fradulent one.

Since you are all from India....would you go to Bihar for your MBA or Medical degree...its the same going to Philippines for your CPL....
agree 110% with avtraining1... go to a well organised school in USA or Aus.. stay away from these cheap "schools"
search Google for info how many Indian students have died in Philippines in plane crashes under CPL training...
STAY AWAY !

Welcome to Australian Airline Pilot Academy
They are one of the good schools in Aus owned by Rex Airlines, but not cheap.

Where I work, we have a list of countries where if you got your cpl there, we will not hire you, Phillipines is no. 3 out of the top 5.
Basically flight training is not cheap, if it were, something is horribly wrong and you should avoid it like the plague.

You in for around 40k USD all in. Multi Engine CPL.
No BS. It's properly regulated. Call the school directly. No agents to deal with etc.

Unfortunately the Philippines has a bad name after some falsified hours situations and some bad press about the CAAP in recent years. Many of the wealthier Filipino Pilots train in the USA, which says a lot.
