Vietnam Airlines Over-run Hanoi

Was just skyping a mate who lives in Saigon. He rekons a VN 777 over-ran in Hanoi 3 weeks ago and also a VN A320 in Saigon 3 months ago.
I would definately be interested in finding out if this is fact because I pax with them quite a bit. Until I heard this my impression of them was quite favourable.
Can anyone confirm or deny?

No over-runs, an RTO by the 777 and the A320 left the runway at a very slow speed on the landing roll due to blown tires.

Ha Ha yeah I think he has been drinking too much local beer, he's definately a bit crazy since he's moved down there
So no 777 over-run. Why did the A320 have blown tyres to cause it to leave the runway at low speed? Hard landing?
