Andrexxx, I don't know of anyone that has 9000 jet hrs as a F/O and even thinking of joining another airline as a....F/O. Let alone an airline that does not upgrade.
Where did you log these hours? Don't they need you there as a super (ultra?) experienced Cpt candidate?
Then again, like you said, you are really determined

"As stated before, the only reason why foreign pilots stick it out at KAL is the fact that it is a good commuting contract, and KAL knows this."
And herein lies a big problem for the pilot community. We actually believe that having 11 days off per month WITH NO VACATION AT ALL is "good". It is not.
Workers that are 100% away from their families for an extended period usually works a month on/a month off or similar. The KAL commuting is not the worst, there are pilots working on 6 weeks on/two weeks off, but to say it's good is a sign of how low pilots have lowered their expectations of a decent life style.

dear all, i have 2 questions:
how much does an average expat skipper on the a330 fly? hours and duty days..
and is there a 2 class society like the koreans get the goods (destinations, hours, no fly to bad ex etc) and the rest gets whatever is left or is it fairly distributed?
regards

Hey guys;
I need a little info if anybody has a little time to help. I am looking for the name of a failed 320-330CCQ captain, probably in the last 12-18 months. He never got 500 hours and was either fired or quit. He will be either an American or Canadian, but got hired on a Canadian license. My first guess would be American. I don't know what he claims his background is, but he was actually a very junior, twice furloughed United FO. He converted his license to Canadian, and at the same time made his SIC time PIC time and then came to KAL as a CCQ. I believe he is now working, or trying to work, at a sister airline to the one I work for in China.
If anyone can pmail me his name, or at least what he claimed his background was, that would help. We've got another faker.
On PPRUNE and AirlinePilotCentral forums, he goes by URGE.

Noodle Air, the numbers are steady fluctuating. After a statement from the Chairman a while ago that the Foreign Pilots are there just "temporarily" the run even increased as the 5 year term can be ended every day.....
The Nationalities are from almost everywhere: USA, Canadian, Brasilian, Spanish, Austrian, German, French, Belgian, Bulgarian, Russian, Turkish, Ethiopian, Portugese, Italian, British, Australian, NewZealander, Columbian, Indian and Luxemburg, just to name a few.
Some interaction in the Hyatt when there but mainly on your own especially during layover when no other Expat with you.

A330 ccq
Hi..i need to do the a330 type rating.
Onto which foreign licence should i do the atpl conversion along with a330 type rating , which is acceptable by korean?
My home icao atpl does not support a330 tr , as a base flight on an empty aircraft is required as per my dgca which is in addition to the full sim profile, which can only be done if with a local airline @&$*^%#
I need to accomplish foreign licence conversion and a330 tr ASAP...
Only Kind,Genuine and Helpful ppruners answer this please

I've been waiting nearly 7 weeks now to hear the outcome of the assessment (even though I know I passed the sim); is this usual? With CCL.
Thanks
Thanks

Yeah, been offered B737 LHS.
Have all the requirements for B777 NTR LHS except flown qualifying type within a year. Trying to persuade them to let me join on B777. Any hints on how to get this done or is it just never going to happen?
Thanks

Fat Dog,
Look on the brighter side, at least you got a good taste of how you will be treated in KAL.
You REALLY gotta hate your present job and desperate enough to join them on the 737. I assure you that you WILL have more than your fair share of issues, flying domestically with all the "friendly" people in KAL.
Oh ya, haejangkuk was completely right, that absolutely big fat ZERO chance of you getting on the 777 now, once they offered 737.

Swell, he claims he has no job. Instead of being thankful for a b737 gig, he entertains a big fat hope to catapulting to a premier fleet. Definitely one to brown nose to haul himself well above his station. We have enough of such greedy expats over here. Sheesh

Either your land are full of losers or your society is really dying, and heaps of people need to come to the Orient for survival.
