for aspiring pilot applicants
hi folks!
to those asking what are the requirements for cebupac, read the requirements in their website... except for the ATR. i think 500++ total time is ok. no hidden details to their requirements.
to those flying outside the phil wanting to apply for cebupac, its better if you get a conversion with the CAAP first. its going to take some time, believe me! So it will be difficult if they consider you and you can't produce a philippine license. it happend to me, but its a good thing i got my license just in time.
we're here in bangkok right now hammering the ATR to our heads... the next batch is to KL in the next few days.
good luck to everyone applying

CAE Level D, JAR STD1A, A320 FFS, Specification A1600-CIA01
According to the Marketing Department of Alpha Aviation Group LTD a global group of companies providing specialist and innovative training solutions. They claim Clark Aviation is a subsidiary of Alpha Aviation in Clark Freeport
They claim they OWN a CAE level D JAR STD1A, A320 FFS, Specification : A1600-CIA01 full flight simulator
Is that the same as the one owned by 5J or they now have their OWN

nice innocent question you have there, sidsrover. you posted detailed and even confidential company info in the Clark Aviation thread and now you ask people in this Cebu Pacific thread as if you don't know what's happening inside CA. spread your rumors somewhere else.

congratulation to the last ATR group who finished and pass the checkride, except to the one that is pain in the as who think he can do the training on his own.
Idit where did you get your flight training because you should ask for reimbursment, you did not learn a squat.
I dont know who is your padrino inside the cebu pac. but i bet you, we dont want to be associated with you . Captains you can have him, he is all yours.
Your chief pilot S.A. need to remind you about your attitude adjustment if you want to continue working at cebu pac.

"guess with the losses cebu pacific makes they soon have to ask for some re-financing"
????????
hey toot3r... what are you waiting for. convert your license already. send in your resume and then keep following up. nothings going to happen if you dont start the process.
i know what your thinking..it may be costly to convert now and not get an interview. but when are things ever concrete. but of course if you dont convert you wont get the ball rolling.
ATR are hiring are continuous. 2 more to arrive before end of this year..and more to come next year. you can bet those first batch FO's will be upgraded so more FO position to open.
typical questions maybe about IFR procedures..ones that you should and are already familiar with. probly about your past aircraft that you flew. your work experience.

re-financing?
what re-financing? Just flew five days straight, and never a flight below 120pax...and this is supposed to be "lean season".
Last week while asking for atc clearance in singapore...we reported "182 souls on board" our a320... while Pal, using an A330 had just 90.
The only re-financing you must be talking about are the Bupak pilots selling their old cars and financing for new ones!

Hey guys, does anyone know of my chances of getting in if I have an A320 type rating from the U.S. although no time on type. I have all the minimum requirements of flying time.
Also, can someone advise me as to how I can transfer the A320 type rating from my FAA license to the RP license if I can't do a check ride due to availability of simulators.
thanks in advance

Harm,
Aren't you rated on F-14s?
I don't know just how much weight the A320 rating will carry given you have little or no actual time. CEB will train an applicant all over again anyway--it has its own sim after all. But it certainly won't hurt to turn in your resume and get your license converted. The bus rating might be good enough to get your foot in the door.
There is a surplus of A320 F/Os at this point and a new batch just finished ground schooling. It is rumored to be the last A320 F/O class in a long while, although direct-hire captains are still welcome. The ATR division is hiring continuously though, so you might want to look into that. Captains, ATR or Airbus, are still in short supply.

good times are over?
Harm dont waste your dough on getting your own 320 type rating. Buskuto is right there is a surplus of 320 fo's at the moment, the 14 that went on ground schooling last month are still awaiting their sim dates. Plus at least 25 ex- airphil 737 capts and f/o's who are very well qualified for the next 320 schooling. As per Phil daily Inquirer, Bupak lost P1.7B this year mainly due to the Peso deval and fuel prices few months past. Things are looking grim indeed...747-800's post about refinancing may be right.
