Thailand airliners for charter

Hi everybody,

I need some update on the situation in Thailand regarding the airline companys, a few questions

1, How is Orient Thai doing and did they change the old 747 to newer?
2, Did Phuket Airs get back their AOC
3, Does ThaiSky fly 747?
4. Any new companys arised?
5, Whick companys fly charter to Europe
6, Which companys hold 757 or 767 in Thailand

I am looking to charter from one of this companys and i am really grateful about all information you have

Hi - I can answer some as follows:

1) Orient Thai now trading as 1-2-go
http://www.fly12go.com/en/about_us/fleet_info.shtml

2) I wouldn't touch Phuket Air with a bargepole. While they had those problems in Europe, they were in total denial about the whole thing. Not even sure they are still flying. Haven't seen one of their birds around for a while. Last I saw, there were a few of them laid up at Uthapao.

3) No, L1011 Tristar.

4) Nok Air (loco subsidiary of TG - 737s and ATR), Thai Air Asia, (linked to Air Asia, but run seperately - 737s), PB Air (Embraer ERJ), Bangkok Airways (B717, A320)

5) 1-2-go have chartered to Europe.

6) 1-2-go has one 757. Nobody I know uses 767 around here. Nearest ones I know would be some of the Chinese carriers.

Wikepedia show them as having one, but it's not on PB's website and I've never seen it on the ground.

It was certainly there in the summer last year, HS-PBH, although i believe it was operating for Air Zimbabwe and Royal Nepal on an ACMI basis..

Airfleets.net now shows it operating for Viva Macau, so its history i guess, although i'm not sure if its been sold or is leased

PB did have a 767 HS-PBH in 2005-6 but it was always operated out on lease to a variety of carriers - Air Nepal, Air Zimbabwe and Viva Macau. The latter subsequently bought it and now operates the aircraft from Macau to Jakarta and the Maldives.

Thanks guys for all the information,

We have used Udom and Orient Thai before but there was a lot of problems with the aircrafts and timeschedule. I dont know if they have updatetd the fleet since many of the 747 was from the 70- ties.

Is there any other similar companys in neighbouring countries like singapore or Malaysia

Gonzola,

Udom has some new aircraft (at least new in his fleet), but they are old birds from JAL. The 757 is now gone....only MD82's left. The youngest aircraft in his fleet is an ex KLM 747-306, circa 1982 or thereabouts. Were you by any chance involved in the series of charters Orient Thai did from Stockholm, Copenhagen or Billund back to Bangkok/Phuket?

Cheers,

767 in Thailand

SkyStar Airways is starting up this month, in theory. A joint Thai/Korean company who was to start Oct 1, 2006 but ran into some logistical problems with the coup and Thai investors in Sept 06.

Training crews in April/May and should be operational in a few months.

Try Globejet for an ACMI lease. L1011-500s. Good clean aircraft and reliable crews. Recently doing a ACMI for Loydd Aeroleanas Bolivia - Santa Cruz to Madrid. Local politics and LAB financial wows curtailed the gig.
How do I know??? Flew for them for a while.

Funny

The funny thing is that i had a meeting with one of the owners in Greece where they was supposed to be based a few years ago before they moved to Canada. It was a Lebanese/Canadian guy and i recieved a proposal agreement regarding charter in Europe but since then i never heard from them and i thought they never get started.

Any updates on new airline companys in Thailand for international operations?

We was supposed to work with Krabi Air but they never made a start so that project is totaly dead.

I read lately that Air Asia will be start flying long haul from Kuala Lampur and maybe Phuket to Scandinavia, any true in those rumours?

Keep me posted guys if hear anything

Welcome to ScandJet

We are looking for charter series between Scandinavia and Thailand

South Africa is another continent but maybe there is an interest for direct flights between cape town and Sweden, not sure if its exists today.

How many hours flight is Stockholm - Capetown?
