Admin culture is all about watching each others' backs. Most of the guys exert more effort trying to keep their jobs rather than doing their jobs. How often do you see admin pilots sitting at their desks doing administrative stuff? A couple of hours a day for a couple of days a week? They're mostly busy flying long layovers and simming.
There are always some guys in there with good intentions. But they fail to act for fear of rocking the boat and jeopardizing their positions. They tacitly condone any wrong perpetrated by their colleagues. In the end, they are fully assimilated. Resistance is futile.
I wonder if it's the same way in all the local airlines.

Pal Management Negative Style
gentlemen and ladies
please refer to this thread i started,....
my point is.... PAL DOES NOT NEED PILOTS NOWADAYS,
that is why expect more termination, suspension, and non renewal of contracts....
you see, instead of being constructive and teaching the pilots to learn from their mistakes (AS IF THESE MANAGEMENT WRONGDOERS ARE PERFECT), they lick up asses up there to lt and blame it on the pilots.
by the way, BOOTS JUNIOR,(the former cp of 320, fatman, ) how was your pasig home, if your family was affected, my sympathy,
now look around your surrounding in pasig, THAT IS EXACTLY HOW WE SEE YOU.... full of sh#t!!!

BS BJ
Optimus Prime,
this one with BJ, I agree
M.78,
PAL has been exactly like that eversince. Believed it or not, it was even worse before the Strike of 98. The Harassment doesnt only comes from the ADMIN, but also from Regular line pilots. Most have been humbled...
So, the ADMIN culture is actually the PAL culture itself.

Light at the End of the Tunnel?
I think the A319/A320 division is lucky. Most of the admins are fairly new and possibly not yet fully assimilated into the traditional admin culture. They have plenty of bad examples set by their predecessors to guide their future actions. But they will still have to work within constraints set by their seniors.
One can always hope.
