Guide for those who want to leave PAL but do not have enough courage

As you travel through life there are always those times
When decisions just have to be made,
When the choices are hard, and solutions seem scarce,
And the rain seems to soak your parade.

There are some situations where all you can do
Is simply let go and move on,
Gather your courage and choose a direction
That carries you toward a new dawn.

So pack up your troubles and take a step forward -
The process of change can be tough,
But think about all the excitement ahead
If you can be stalwart enough!

There might be adventures you never imagined
Just waiting around the next bend,
And wishes and dreams just about to come true
In ways you can't yet comprehend!

Perhaps you'll find friendships that spring from new things
As you challenge your status quo,
And learn there are so many options in life,
And so many ways you can grow!

Perhaps you'll go places you never expected
And see things that you've never seen,
Or travel to fabulous, faraway worlds
And wonderful spots in between!

Perhaps you'll find warmth and affection and caring
And somebody special who's there
To help you stay centered and listen with interest
To stories and feelings you share.

Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends
Are supportive of all that you do,
And believe that whatever decisions you make,
They'll be the right choices for you.

So keep putting one foot in front of the other,
And taking your life day by day...
There's a brighter tomorrow that's just down the road -
Don't look back! You're not going that way!

how many windows???

did you also hear that this JC also tried to look which B744 flight deck windows can be opened and how (which was his aircraft at that time)? he also doesnt know how to use the escape devices and can't explain the symbols on his ND. his EQC instructor was given a direct order to pass him in his checkride no matter what, which the IP didn't do.

now, he was hired again as a NEW HIRE. as if he didn't exist before. that's how things are being run by the present management.

Clearance

I heard that there was one 320 FO that was about to leave to be interviewed or processed in a foreign carrier. But at the immigration, he wasn't allowed to leave because he didn't have the "clearance" from PAL. Have any of you guys heard about this? Can you give the correct details? Is this what they meant that all of the pilots who left will be crying? By harrassing them if they go back to the Phils?[/QUOTE]

HEARD ABOUT THIS AS WELL. ..... CAN ANYBODY SHED INSIGHT IF THIS IS TRUE OR NOT-WHO WAS THIS PERSON.... INTITIALS WOULD DO. ALL I KNOW IS THE BASIC REQT IN POEA HAS TO BE COMPLIED WITH WHICH IS AFTER DOING ALL THE PDOS, MEDICAL, ETC. NEVER HEARD ABOUT IMMIGRATION INTERVENING WITH A CLEARANCE REQT.

THANKS

Cathay NEEDS PILOTS!!!!

http://www.clickaudit.com/goto/?35284

CX is desperately looking for 747-400 pilots. Don't be fooled by the myth that CX doesn't take Pinoy pilots. Its BS!!! If you know your plane and study your ATPL subjects (not the answers!!!!!!!!) HK$85k per month (US$11k+) could be yours. If there are no Filipinos at CX... why don't you pave the way for others??? AND CX will see how good we really are!! GO FOR IT.... doesn't hurt to apply.
IF you are an FO on the 744 (this is for you) and you want to send your kids to private schools for a good education or be able to build a house for the future or save for retirement.....your P100k/month (US$2000) isn't gonna do it!!! LT is a selfish a..hole and your loyalty isn't worth what they put you through!! You guys add more value to the company than he wants you to know... remember the 744 is a cash cow for PAL so why is he paying you like factory workers? CX is looking so PLEASE APPLY!!!!!!!

PS. Koyang the reason you have a bad heart is well... you know why!!! NO point is kicking a man while he is down....right? So why do you do it to your pilots????

Somebody told me the story was about 4 months old, but the good thing is the pilot involved managed to reach his new employer safe and sound ,just few weeks ago. ( this was accdg to his comrades from the same outfit).
His PAL Profile:A300B4-SE/B737-FO/A330FO; medyo maitim and ilonggo(not so sure about his province but from southern phil), last name starts with the letter "B".
His New Co.: QR

Guess mo na ba Kuya?

Cheers Bro
Does this mean he is out of PAL now? Lucky guy. Here are more clues for his identity. Class 90 in PAL AvSch, a funny guy, tall & dark, around 5"09'. Real initials are JBV B. If you are familiar with their nick names, TB. Got it now?

I'm just gonna go to HK and do the best I can. I like to think that the color of my skin won't be a factor, but, like you said...di mo masabi. Gusto ko lang bumalik sa atin. I guess CX is the next best thing. I still have about a month to prepare. I'll let you guys know.

Besides color of the skin (profiling) Heard Cathay Pacific only hires Chinese, British, Australian and Canadian Nationals or if you're a passport holder of one of the Queen of England's former territories(Immigrant).

But Times are changing all airlines are loosening up, India and Asia needs thousand of pilots, pilots now are precious.

Attitude + over confidence + sloppy handling + ****ty procedures + bad karma = Dreams crashing and burning

Best of luck to you Mach10

PINOYS making a move on CX!!!

Machten,

Congratulations. Make us all proud. Getting in to CX is not easy, so study hard. YOu have 1 month and you need to be devoting every spare second of the day to study and preparation of interview questions. Their interview techique can sometimes be aggressive and many good pilots have fallen because they haven't been able to see the reason for the aggression. Remember an interview is 1 hour for you to impress the panel and for them to cull the people they don't want to work with. So trying to get you annoyed is one way to see what kind of person you are. Please prepare for questions like... What are your faults? Have you had problems with people at work? If so, how did you deal with it. Would you do it differently now? How? Why do you want to leave your present company? Why do you want to work for Cathay? How much profit did Cathay make last financial year?
When you say anything negative... ALWAYS back it up with a POSITIVE. Like.... What are you faults? Answer... My faults is... A, but since I am aware of it I make an effort to try bla bla bla.

If you need study material PM me and I'll send you all i can.

hmmm, that makes me think. I wonder if his son flies(and plays) the way he does?

Well my compadre, you said the magic number there - "60" years of age. If he has not mastered this skill at that age then he really is in serious trouble.
It's been proven that as you grow older, the slower you learn and adapt and the faster you forget things. At 60, he should not be even driving a car let alone fly as Capt. in a heavy metal.

I actually came across another guy that at 57 struggles to renew his IR and cannot successfully do an NDB approach.

Another one is a foreign Capt who does not even know how to retrieve his messages from his mobile phone, he lets his F/O re-program his FMC if they were cleared for a different STAR or runway. I've heard that at some point, he actually forgot how to execute RTE 2 (Boeing) in his FMC. He flew with me once and tried to flare a lightie 50 feet over the runway and nearly stalled the damn thing.

Oh well......

Cathay interview

Gentlemen ( and ladies ),

To those that are scheduled to be interviewed or are planning to lodge an application, my recommendation is to read these two books:

First is - Handling the Big Jets - by D.P. Davies
Second is - Preparing for the Cathay Pacific Interview - The Pilot's Guide by Capt X,Y,Z

On top of this, better master the subjects in Aerodynamics, Avionics and Flight management systems and Met.

One of the questions are - How many jetstreams do you know and name them?
Another one is - What is the function of an aircraft's wing keel ?

Another one I can remember is - based on a Boeing FMC, what is the term of the problem you would encounter if you lose your inertial reference unit.
Answer: Mapshift

I'm scheduled for a second interview - Sim flying on a B747-200 and group exercises, psychological quizzes, medical and others.

Good luck to all of you. Anyone who want to avail of these books, let me know and I can buy them for you. If you happen to drop by Sydney, send me an email [email protected]

Go get them boys..... Mabuhay ang Filipino

D6

this is jbv b. i just read about this rumor about me from this user name's log in page.

It's poea not immig. since my agent is IPAMS, i had to get an OFW clearance so the immig won't question me.

But there was a memorandum about pilots who are considered mission critical skilled workers that they should tender 6 months adv. notice.

i just found a loophole in the system that is why i was allowed to leave.

I'm now enjoying my one month advance $$$$$. and so much more to come.

Good luck to those who wants to follow.
