Thumbs up How much is MAS paying?

What's the going rate at MAS?

Great place to live...
(used to be a ) great Company to work for (maybe it still could be)

Long way to travel to work tho', if you live in K.L.
...but then an understanding company will take care of its valued employees (and vice versa!!)

MAS used to have a good reputation that rivalled its once partner further south....could MSA be a starter again?????

Anyway, ARE MAS able to afford "market prices" for their pilots?

Or are they going to suffer always being "also rans"?

Malaysia - the country - has a LOT of prospects that could see it go either way. As the country's Flag Carrier, I feel it's up to Malaysian Airlines to lead the way with the

MALAYSIA BOLEH!! campaign

Couldn't agree with you more. Lovely country and all that.

Only one thing. It should have read "never ran" instead of "also ran."

MAS, that is.

Kaptin M,

MAS will never be the same as the days of MSA.
They have gone from bad to worse in the years gone by.
"Understanding" they are not and the powers that are in place right now are in there for their own benefit, be it $$ or titles.....and taking care of its employees are the least of their priorities.Thats the reason for pilots leaving MAS. Its not only about the $$.
There is no need to make comparisons to partners south because partners south make $$ and they dont have people coming in to take over the helm and then reward themselves with a brand spanking new million dollar office and a new Beemer without even proving themselves first. Not to mention other 'expenses' charged to the company for their personal plaesures.

ps. going rate is peanuts and
in the present negotiations
they are offering the shells
as well

In 1990 my brother in-law (mess-comm student) asked me about the future of MAS - "I said, well once the deadwoods are gone the young guns will improve the systems (oops, i mean try and implement a system), . . . . . "

Now it seems that most of the young guns are being bought over by the mid-east carriers for 1% of their value which MAS *MIS* management have NO clues about!!! brilliant guys who were born with ambitions to fly and studied in schools just to be an aviator (only 1 guy is left in tech & dev - quiet guy who plays NO politics and basically a workaholic - I pity him)

If you asked me now?
Well, . . . . . more of the above average young guns are leaving and those who remain are being STEPPED ON so they will never see the office and all their brilliant adeas will be sold to consultant companies which they are quietly indulging into (mostly foreign contries in the former USSR and Indo-China) So in short Kaptin_M, Malaysia Boleh, BUT the ARSE LICKERS like SHORTY BONZAI are putting a stop to it - HE SHUD BE SHOT!!!

VERY SAAAAADDDDDD INDEED.
