How long did it take for you to get reply from CPP after you sent your application?

Hi everyone!
It seems like the waiting period varies from individual to individual. In general most people had to wait around 6 months to hear back from them. I've sent my application in January and still waiting. I would appreciate if ,everyone who had the interview ,post up how long did it take to get response from CX HR team. Thanks!

18months although the other two guys I interviewed with only waited about a month.

My question is for people who bombed out after stage 1, how long did it take them to tell you?

Stallone 18th May 2011 02:25

13th month after tomorrow

3 years... and still waiting... its nice that some of you are complaining about waiting 6 months and you have like 300tt. Cathay is really aiming for the stars. This whole industry is a total POS, Im ready to get out because these airlines would rather take people no time rather then people who have been flying for years. :ugh:

I appreciate you guys sharing your information. It must have been painful to wait that long. I heard that if you were not shortlisted , they let you know via email, don't they?

I've had an app in for about 2 years now for the DESO program, and have yet to hear a word, except of course for the auto-generated replies...

I'm new as of today to this forum...I came here looking for info about CX in general, and hiring information specifically...

What sort of time / experience is CX looking for in an SO applicant anyways? I've been assuming that I just don't meet their expectations; however I've been reading about how they can only get low-time applicants now.

Currently I'm flying for my second regional in the States (after being furloughed from my first)...full ATPL, typed on 3 transport-category aircraft, 3000 TT with about 2500 in turbines...where I am lacking in quals? Do you have to have someone walk in your app before it gets a serious glance?

The new C package...sounds like a bum deal. I recently flew with a Capt who had been in the pool for about 2 years, and turned down the new offer. He forwarded me the emails with the compensation package...

Now, I don't know what they used to be. I'm assuming quite a bit more, hence the outrage over the new numbers. However, I crunched the numbers, and the first year SO pay is still 2.5 times more a month than I'm making here as a regional pilot.

So...should I even try to keep going with this? These forums make CX sound like doom and gloom...but being at the bottom of a regional airline is pretty ****ty already. It's not about accepting a crap deal, and I'm way past the SJS, but in my current situation the new compensation package is still a huge improvement.

On paper, it looks like a "huge improvement", but if you take this so-called "deal", you WILL be poorer than a church mouse when the premium cost of living in Hong Kong is taken into account.

Additionally, get your head around 4 - 6 years as a second officer - a designated eater, a cruise pilot, GIB, working for a company that is notorious for contract breaches and staff abuse (the kind that would get the attention of the DOJ in your US&A).

You're overqualified for this insult of an offer, shaving daily as you do, and the last of your pre-pubescent pimples having faded a decade ago.

There are basically 3 packages as follows:
  1. Ab Initio Cadet Programme – a 61-week programme for applicants with less than 250 hours total flight time.
  2. Advanced Entry Programme – a 30-week programme for applicants who possess an ICAO CPL and have in excess of 250 hours flight time in specified categories.
  3. Transition Training – a 12-week programme for applicants with an ICAO ATPL or CPL with passes in all ATPL subjects and have in excess of 1500 hours total flight time
you can get more details on CX web site.

@SpinD, though the straight dollar amount of the C-package looks tempting to a US-regional FO indeed, do your research thoroughly and you'll find very quickly it to be quite far from adequate. Not going to go into details as there are numerous threads on this site about the pitfalls of the latest offer, but I will say this: age 65 retirements, 1500-hr newhire rule, flight-time-duty-time rules all are putting pressure on legacies to lock in whatever labor they can because they know in 3-5 years they will all be in a world of hurt. Patience is your best friend at the moment.

I was offered an F/O position on Fokker 50 aircraft to start in July , so it looks like i better take this offer rather than waiting for Cathay. 3-4 years of waiting is long enough time to get upgraded into captain position for regional carriers

1 Month, i was quite pleased with how they have been during the interview process. The scare stories havent applied in my case.

Cpp - so help !

Does emailing CX help in anyway though ? Do they even care to reply to them ? I am unable to edit my profile to update my credentials and seem to be stuck ! And i applied for the traditional CPP but i believe they are hiring only Second Officers now so when i tried applying to that got the reply saying " We cannot take any further applications from you as your previous application is still under process " ! Anybody knows what are my possible options ???

Thanks
JoshiR

I would assume that your application will go through the same system whether you've applied to traditional CPP or the new one. I think the new program was launched to cut training cost over in FTA. Not sure if asking CX helps or not but i did get reply i was told the my application is still being processed.
