Why do you choose CX? or KA?
I'm sure this is a pretty tough question to answer, and I haven't make up my mind on which airline I'm going to apply. What do you guys think? Do you guys value the benefit and salary more, or the career path of the airline?
It is kind of discouraging that CX S/O has to wait 4-5 years to be promoted to F/O while KA S/O is allowed to do take off and landing after couple mouths of training in HK. |
Are you applying for the cadet position, or direct entry SO? Do you have your license already?
|
After having done a few airline interviews during my short career, my advice is this: apply to both/all, and worry about "choosing" only after both/all have offered positions.
|
I wounder if CX are desperate enough to consider a DESO without the hour requirements.... soon completed frozen ATPL with multi and IR... would be keen to apply to DESO.
|
Doubt they would consider a low hours DESO when they have guys with 1000s hours going for a cadet position.
If you apply for both its not a problem but you will be asked in the interview have you applied to anyone else and who would you rather end up working for? I am sure you are aware CX and KA are almost the same company so you can't really say much prefer KA in their interview and much prefer CX in the CX one as they may share notes. If I didn't have a license I would apply for both. |
schweiser,
have you been under a rock for the past 24 months? No such thing as DESO anymore! |
@betbump5,
Yeah, thanks. Haven't been keeping up and saw on their website that you can still submit an application for DESO. Oh well. |
oops, I forgot to mention, I'm planning to apply for the cadet program. And I'm sure they will ask about why you did apply or didn't apply the other company, and that should be a tough question as SloopyJoe pointed out that they may share their notes.

Apply for both and see how you go. No harm. Both companies are much the same. But at Dragonair, the selection will be abit more rigorous as the selected cadets will spend less time babysitting the autopilot. Good Luck:ok: |
