duping in manila schools

capt arnel miguel of aeroflite aviation, with base at subik. I have personally been duped by him. & also hundreds of other indian students of their money. I dont know whether he has changed the name of the school or disappeared now.if you do not agree to what they say they will stop your flying & you will be sitting in your apartment .And you will be depressed in a foreign country ultimately you will end up agreeing to whatever he says.

legal_consultant 13th Nov 2010 07:21

ummm... has anyone reported this incident to any government office? :)

airfoil 13th Nov 2010 10:26

This thread will go looong way. Considering aviation industry in the Philippines is never near in the triumph of development. If only CAAP will do there job by the book and flight schools start to care about their students (Yeah! I know it's like wishing man can live in the sun..lol) :ok:
well, legal_consultant I think you should narrow down your scope of research because you'll have a hard time collating all your data considering there will be a handful problems.
here's one reason why I'm not taking my flying lessons here in PI is thelack (before anyone reacts) of good functioning aircraft where I'm not afraid to fly for mechanical/instrument failure in mid-air.

airfoil 13th Nov 2010 10:35

ummm... has anyone reported this incident to any government office? http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/smile.gif
That won't help honestly. := It will just be added up in the towering files of reported incidents in CAAP. The reorganization of ATO is much worse than I expected. :ugh:

legal_consultant 15th Nov 2010 04:30

airfoil: i just want to know if there are indeed cases reported to any government agency such as the CAAP so I will get any statistical data and also, more information regarding some problems w/ aviation schools the reason being that people here have not yet given me any elaborate information on how the flying schools are being handled.

legal_consultant 15th Nov 2010 04:39

narrowing my scope: how flying schools are being handled by its administrators, admissions office, etc. particularly focusing on fraudulent acts being done.

FLying School

Flying School never bothered abt their students in phil.

They are the acting agent b/w CAAP(ato) and the students, legally or illegally
and the best part is your instructors are least bothered too. those guys just wanna get 1500 hrs.... that all they care about.....

to legal consultant: if u wanna contact respective student who was cheated in manila.... arnd 12 ppl wer promised type rating after their cpl got cheated... now this guys lost arnd 20K-30K USD n homeless....

planning to go to phip

hi
i am planning to go back to phip to finish my ir,multi engine rating, cpl renewal and i was told about a school in iloilo by name vsyas flying school so any body any bad experience please let me know...

aakashseth63 7th Mar 2011 09:10

do not go to that scul buddy...no a/c no instructors..nothing.....

vdaff 7th Mar 2011 09:59

Flight schools in filipines are not safe. I know a guy named ashwan nair who was cheated around 12 lacs and returned to the country with only a PPL.

if you want to train pls go to USA its safe, cheap and good quality. I did mine in the states for around 22 lacs including accommodation for around 9 months. I will highly recommend schools in Florida. But at the same time this is not a good time to get your pilot license unless you have a lot of money cause airlines now asking money for ratings and etc.....it seems only the rich will make it into the cockpit

ReverseFlight 7th Mar 2011 14:57

Never mind the flight schools. After cheating death in your training and you try to convert your hard-earned cash-driven licence overseas, you find the local authorities do nothing to expedite the process ... :ugh:

Advice

Is it even advice able to attend a flying school in the Philippines? Pls I d like to know before i make any mistake

HueyDog 26th Feb 2012 04:55

Yes, it is worthwhile to attend flight school in Philippines, but you need to research and attend a good school - not necessarily the cheapest. WCC Aviation in Binalonan seems professional and has well maintained aircraft. I am sure there are other good schools as well.

Yes, any flying school here in the Philippines, as long as it is registered in CAAP and follow the all safety standards, why not?!

Good advice: Avoid "Fly-By-Night"

x_feed 28th Feb 2012 01:54

The only airline-partnered school is the coming CAE/CebuPac academy.
Taras B:

When the Cebupac/CAE will start their official recruitment for the pilots? (ab- initio) Some good info heard that 5J will acquire A330-300.

Clark Aviation/AAG is not. They "hint" that they have "ties" to many airlines, which means nothing. They won't guarantee you a job. This company has already ripped off and disappointed many cadets with their song and dance. They should be on wa wa we.
Let's move on and face new opportunities coming in Philippine aviation industry. I heard a lot of "Negative" Comments about AAG:}

RP-C000 28th Feb 2012 03:43

x-feed..sadly there some guys here who cant fly a kite let alone a C172 and want job guarantee.

Best to talk directly to a flt school and make your call where you want to train..

,

I know that RP-C000, just asking.

correct info about the A330! I will be talking to CAE reps directly in mid-April at WATS 2012 and I will PM you what I find out.
Thanks! Taras B, really appreciated.

Pls does anyone have info on the quality of flight training at strike wing aviation in philippines? I see the advert for PPL CPL IR and ME for 32000 USD with accomodation and feeding, is this any good? Anyone with experience with the school should kindly let me know. ThankS

Lawwyy,

The price is good enough to complete your "minimum" (let's say about 200HRS+) time for CPL/IR/ME, still, you must do some "extra strategies" to earn flight hours experience. If you're a filipino citizen, earn time hours at least 500HRS and try to apply cebu pacific/pal express, as FO and fly ATR72/Q300/Q400, earn hours with income and later on, you can apply as FO for A320.

A_B_C,

Yes, you can still start your 2nd career, some people start their flying career at the age of 30+, When it comes to flying school, do some background check, what are the pro's and con's. and search as possible a flying school that suits to you (Location, Airstrip)

Also, when it comes to price (ground study & renting the aircraft) do some good comparison from one flying school to another, and what are the study materials/equipment's are used to ensure your "safety" and worth enough..

A_B_C 5th Apr 2012 04:56

Thanks you for the reply.

I received course package details from Omni and AAA not AAG.

both had differences, in AAA they offer PPL, CPL IR and MER and price is bettter. However, in Omni they only offer to me PPL ,CPL and IR and only c152 compare to AAA offer piper seneca, c152 and c172.

Appreciate if someone from the forum to give feedback for AAA.

Lawwyy 8th Apr 2012 05:53

thanks

Thanks for the reply, would look into the option, would like to chat with an alumni of the school

mutt 8th Apr 2012 06:57

Be forewarned, some airlines know that the Filipino system is crooked, so perspective candidates are getting refused, especially when its easy for the airline to compare logbooks and see that 4 people flew the same aircraft on the same day at the same time.:ugh::ugh:

if youre still interested, try having a chat with capt ben hur gomez. hes been in the industry for a long long long time and he knows whats going on. hes a retired 747 capt for PAL and is now managing his own flying shcool thats ISO/ICAO certified.

he hears and sees a lot..

couldn't start own topic.

Not sure if this is off-topic.

Is there anything wrong with the Bulacan schools? Some have been around more than a decade. I was looking at Omni vs Masters/Fliteline. Asked a pilot friend and he said Masters/Fliteline are also good schools and to choose whichever is cheaper or more convenient.

Ankit Kotecha 14th Mar 2013 11:10

in Bulacan -

Masters are good schools. nowadays they are more into chopper training, due to very less students.
Fliteline - some CAAP problems, fake loggings, etc
Yokota - only chopper training
Delta - now purchased by the biggest education group of Philippines - AMA, flying is going on now.

Clark - Omni - good school with own runway, but expensive

Manila/subic/lingayen - Fly fast. very professional people run this school. I highly recommend it.

Iba - AAA. another nice school

Cebu - Aviatour - once Philippines' top flying school with biggest fleet, sadly is now bankrupted after Capt. Bahinting's death.

smoothcruise5 30th Mar 2013 07:32

Any comments about Leading Edge International Academy? It's the only Cessna Pilot Training Centre in Southeast Asia.

I'm planning to go there for my CPL/IR.

advice

Please give me some advice i was planning to go to Omni for ab initio. I'm a bit confused about the difference of building hours as a Flight instructor in single engine if some other schools offering FOT/airbus rating. What is the advantage of having a high time in single engine? I was planning if i will go to Omni for PPL-ME and PAAT(cebupac) for type rating or AAG all the way from zero to type rating.. It's same price though around 3.4M from zero to type. Please give me some advice. Thanks
