AHK selection Process?

Hi Everyone,

I've been invited for the 'Initial Interview' in late October. Should I expect several stages of the selection and if so, what can I expect on the initial one?

Thanks in advance

Air HK

Hey guys, i've got 200 hours fATPL. Air HK has replied my email saying that they "intend to conduct interviews for low hour pilots" some time in the future.

Is that an SOP kind of reply or are they really keen? Thanks.

hitmanishere 25th Sep 2008 16:16

:eek:They Replied???? Wow,Thats good news HENC.....May i ask where you got the fATPL from and when you applied to them???

hjmemon 25th Sep 2008 17:53

Hi HenC,
Good to hear that you got a reply. BTW when did you apply?
And one more question for other people around, I think for their Ab-Initio, its 250 Hrs requirement with fATPL. Are they really in that desperate need of pilots????
Thanks

rider of the storm 26th Sep 2008 04:18

Pardes,

Could you elaborate on your reply? I just received the confirmation on my initial interview in Singapore, late October. I can expect a technical quiz followed by an hour long interview. If successful I'll be invited to Hong Kong for the second part of the interview.

How tough is the technical? Any suggestions on what to study?

Thanks,

ROTS

HenC 28th Sep 2008 05:12

To hitmanishere and hj memon:

Well I applied early sept 08 but I for hell wouldn't know when they are going to conduct the interview (even though they've acknowledged). :)

fATPL's from Msia but I'm Singaporean.

Go ahead and give it a shot though. :ok:

lunatismic 28th Sep 2008 12:20

rider on the storm,

So I'd appreciate it if you could fwd me any useful information you might find on them, and I'll do the same. THANKS

rider of the storm 28th Sep 2008 22:29

I'm interviewing candidates now for AHK late October date beer sessions. Send pm's!
(btw, very easy interview and selection process)

act700 14th Oct 2008 07:41

Apparantly people are misunderstanding my above post. I'm going on the October interviews myself. I'm just looking to see if anyone wants to have a beer or two while there.
It was a futile attempt at a joke.

Ha Ha Ha-Funny!!!

I guess after spending the last 20 years left of the Atlantic my sense of humor is not on par with the rest of the world.

r1flyguy35 14th Oct 2008 17:22

Nice part of the world though, :ok:

act700 14th Oct 2008 20:58

AllInGoodTime 2nd Nov 2008 02:12

Does anyone know how many pilot bases Air Hong Kong has for their crew.

act700 2nd Nov 2008 09:44

SIngapore and Penang, Malaysia. Have read Hong Kong as well, but not sure about that.

Sonic69 4th Nov 2008 05:32

Haha, yes, that joke was kinda left of centre. I was scratching my head on that one.

SiNGH08 28th Nov 2008 23:08

Nearly 1 month but no posts here. Did anyone attend the interview? What results? Was there anyone interview for cadet pilot position?

hitmanishere 4th Dec 2008 13:59

Was there anyone interview for cadet pilot position
Hmmm...When did they start the cadet pilot program???:}

act700 13th Dec 2008 22:02

Was at the October interview in SIN, and succesful. No clue when/if there will be a second interview, with what's going on with the economy, and the CX parking (freighter) aircraft news. Don't know if that will delay or otherwise affect things?
Maybe someone else has more info?

act700 13th Dec 2008 22:04

Oh, forgot to mention: Direct Entry Interview, no cadets as far as I saw.

Flying Mechanic 17th Dec 2008 07:05

Any news on the Md11's?I heard they been talking to Eva about Sim training, good time to get Md11's as theres a few parked up now.

stone_crusher 1st Jan 2009 04:46

with such low time what are the chances??

northeast canuck 1st Jan 2009 11:17

I know someone with no experience, just 250 hours and a frozen ATPL who was hired fairly recently. So, yes, you do have a chance of getting in but I don't know what their hiring situation is like at the moment.

stone_crusher 7th Jan 2009 04:34

northeast.........

is it possible to find out like whats the situation now in AHK......

Flying Mechanic 27th Nov 2009 17:05

PCLCREW 1st Dec 2009 18:20

The last I heard they are not taking any pilots unless you live in Southeast Asia. They sent me an email about 2 months after applying.
They mentioned maybe by mid 2010 they might start taking people worldwide again.
