HKCAD Cross country definition?
Does anybody know what their definition is?
Problem is that X-C time in my logbook was originally logged with the purpose of getting my FAA ATPL and for that purpose you can use the (FAR 61.1(b)(3)(vi)) definition: (vi) For the purpose of meeting the aeronautical experience requirements for an airline transport pilot certificate (except with a rotorcraft category rating), time acquired during a flight— (A) Conducted in an appropriate aircraft; (B) That is at least a straight-line distance of more than 50 nautical miles from the original point of departure; and (C) That involves the use of dead reckoning, pilotage, electronic navigation aids, radio aids, or other navigation systems. |
I guess C correct me if someone know.

oh this one can get tricky
I hated their definition but
it's somewhere along the line of a flight conducted to an aerodrome not less than 65 nm with two intermediate stops in between. means u depart A , make a full stop at B, then depart B again make a full stop at C and then finally back to A. A - B and B-C must be more than 65nm. :ok: |
so does that mean it cant be A to B then B to A even the distance between those two points are more than 65 nm?
|
nope
u must land at two or more aerodromes which excludes ur departing aerodrome |
u must land at two or more aerodromes which excludes ur departing aerodrome They also require two night cross countries more than 65NM. I am talking in general here (The rest of the 200H+). What does HKCAD consider cross country. I just want to make sure the way I have logged it is ok with them. Somebody told me the JAA definition is everytime you are 3NM from your field, but I find that hard to believe. |
