Tough choice??

Greetings all
I would greatly appreciate some input on the following dilema:
If you were lucky enough to have the choice of a job with Cathay (DEFO freight in USA) OR a position as FO with Continental airlines, which would you pick. If possible, please include some explanation of your choice.
Of course this is a hypothetical question, but one which may face several US based pilots if they wish to apply to both (both are hiring).
Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Thats a tough choice, but a very personal one. I would divide them into to groups. Both are great but very different lifestyles. If you live in IAH, CLE, EWR. It shouldnt be to tough of a choice. If you you wanna start out flying International routes on widebodies and wanna live somewhere exotic and different then CX should be your choice.
Whichever way you go dont ever look back, dont wonder what seniorty you would hold if you went here or there, if you would have upgraded by now or stuff like that cuz there are to many variables and youll drive youself crazy. Good luck.:}

I have worked on contracts abroad. My personal feeling is that I am happiest when I am working at home. The "exotic" local is neet at first but it wears you down mentally and emotionally eventually. Personally I like to be around my family and friends and do all the stuff I like to do and drive my car and have my house and not an apartment etc. etc. So if you have a choice with similar benefits to stay or go...I would always say stay. That said Cathay is not a bad company, but lets not forget that they are in HKG and have the freedom of the labor laws there.
