CX Sim Prep in North America?

Hello,

Does anyone know where I can do the sim prep for my CX interview? I'm not looking for a place with a B747 sim. I want a place that knows the CX profile and expected maneuvers as well. I heard that there's a place in Toronto that knows the CX profile. Also, I heard of places in Minneapolis and Denver. I do not know if the Minneapolis or Denver locations know the CX profile. Does anyone have the phone numbers and specific instructors for these places?

CX will send you the profile so bring it with you. Alteon in Seattle will get you the sim with an instructor well versed with all airline profiles.

sim prep

Just did the one in MSP. It's great, they have all the gouge (more than you get from cx).

In the past I have used both Alteon in KSEA and Emerald Coast in KMSP. Both places were very good. The instructor did his homework and was familiar with the profile. Although I do not think it matters that much, Alteon has all Boeing customers in their database and were able to quickly set up the sim to match (engines, airports, etc.). Emerald Coast is a little less expensive and you can not go wrong with them either. They use the Northwest Airlines simulator which of course is not maintained to the standards of Boeing in SEA. The key really is to be VERY prepared before you show up to your sim prep, otherwise you are just wasteing money. The time goes by so fast.

I noticed that Alteon only has the 744 in KSEA. Wouldn't it be more adventageous to use a -200 sim? They have one in KSDF and one other I think.

I highly recomend emerald coast in MSP. It cost for me $950 for two hours. Two hours is enough if you have been hand flying a bit and is instrument current.

Emerald Coast in MSP can prepare you for both the -400 and -200 sims. The Instructor is typed in both planes and is very knowledgeable. He has done countless Cathay Sim preps.
He knows everything about their sim ride and has up-to-date info on their latest tricks.
I did the -400 during the summer, and I have recommended him to all my friends ever since.

I just talked to Graham Aschenbrener of Emerald. He said they don't have the MSP sim anymore (their contract expired or something). He can get you in with a sim in MIA but the availability is very limited he said. Plus, he will be very busy within the next few weeks for personal reasons. I'm goin with Alteon in SDF. PM me if anyone is interested on sharing. I have one booked on Oct 22. $550/hr is the price I got.:* Another option is to go to Coastal Pacific Advanced Flight in CYXX. It's an FTD but I'm sure it'll do the job. A bit of a hassle to get there (for me at least).
