Spicejet

The wannabes threads for Jet, Indigo, Air India etc., go back a long time.....they start somewhere in 2010-11 or so. I wonder why there are no threads for Spicejet on the wannabes forum? Their career page has been asking for Indian Captains and expat Captains for donkeys years....don't they use any FOs?

Yup! Strange....every other airline seems to be discussed, except Spicejet.....almost as though (shudder!!!) Voldemort were being discussed!!

Jokes aside, some rumour has it that they had a CPL exam as recently as 3rd week of May...could not confirm it. Other rumours say that this was a 'family' exam.

Frustrating.

Voldemort!! Well that's quite a comparison!

I do believe/read that they had a exam on the 18/19 may for employees/ internal candidates.

It would be great if someone could shed some light on the exam format, Compass test etc. I think its better to be prepared than sorry. Just in case.
Moreover, I doubt many know what king of questions/ rounds they have.

Till last week, SJ had requirements for Indian Captains AND Expat pilots on their website (these were on their site for years, probably forgotten because all mails to their email ID invariably bounced with the message 'mailbox full'!). Now, their website only advertises for Expat pilots for the Q-400.

So that's one avenue that's a dead end for the Injuns.....or so it seems unless something major comes up in the future!

Now THAT is certainly major news!!! Good news on standalone basis, but the big question is - will SJ recruit pilots from family/employees/recco from above or go for an open recruitment? And when?

All the best!

Yeah read the same thing. 11bn$ deal with Boeing/Airbus.

Good to see Indian Aviation on the upward road of the sin wave.

Why this discrimination? How about selecting people solely on the basis of performance. Aviation is a serious industry. Don't we all know it?

Expectations...!!! hmmm... What I have learnt in Aviation (esp Indian) is that not to expect. Sometimes reports are purposely exaggerated to influence other factors like shares, image etc. I don't want to be discourage and spread negativity.. Its just how i think & i could be wrong. Only time has the answers. The only thing i hope from SJ is fair selection process if there is an open recruitment . It takes time and money to expand and Aviation is very dynamic. But yes another thing which i hope is that all of us should eventually get the dream soon. Good Luck to all.
