Class 1 Medical DGCA

Hi all... I need some information cum help on my Class 1 med. renewal status. I was a Spicejet cadet pilot in 2007 so had my Class 1 Med then in 2008. But because of finacial turbulence in aviation industry and specially in Spicejet in late 2008 I dropped my idea of continuing with flying and didnt renew Class 1there after. Now I am again thinking of starting up with flying and need to renew Class 1 med. I already have a file no. on my name in DGCA so cannt start a fresh . So please help me in this matter that what should I do ???? Will Be great full for the same .

first of all get an CLASS 1 medical date from any of 3 AIR FORCE MEDICAL CENTERS which are at BANGALORE DELHI ASSAM....then apply for NOC...in the application u have to give reasons why u want NOC...and why didnt u renewed your medical....then when u get NOC....fill an application for PMR forwarding....take a medical date which is minimum 45 days from today...as PMR forwading can take upto 45 days...so after that verify with appropriate medical center again and again wheather you PMR is forwarded or not....

this might help you boss

Thumbs up

You will again have to do your Class 1 initial medical examination at one of the three centres (Delhi, Bangalore or Jorhat). Alternatively, i think you can also do it at the Private centres in Bombay and Delhi (Not too sure of that)
But you will need to apply for an NOC first to DGCA.
My opinion :

Take a date in Bangalore or Delhi (Address and contact details on DGCA site)
Once you get a date for initial medical exam, apply for NOC (Details for application , given on DGCA site)
Once you get NOC, apply for PMR forwarding to DGCA, atleast 10 days before medical date.

So, there you go.
PM me if you need any clarification.
Cheers.

since 2008 it is long time . u need to check with DGCA , if they have trashed your PMR u need to do class 2 again and thereafter class 1.

you need to write later to DGCA mentioning your case . if you are granted NOC
directly for class 1 well and gud.

smimilar was case of my friend his last medical class1 was in 2008 and he renewed this year. he was mentioned on letter to do class 2 again and once its updated he can apply for class 1. his file no was kept same .

You will have to a INITIAL class 1 again. There is no doubt about that but the rest of the info abt doing doing a class 2 again is not true, it may have been an isolated case where the guy did not know how to talk in DGCA.

I have just renewed my Indian Class 1 med after 14 yrs, DGCA as usual, had lost my old File, my medical records for 22 yrs. Since I had to do another Initial medical again, I just went & talk to Wg Cdr in DGCA, wrote an application & he just signed it off, no need to do another class 2 again.

If you are in Northern part of India, then I would recomend going to AFCME, get a date & put a request for PMR forwarding.

Getting NOC is the easiest, they will take email request & email you when your NOC is ready to pick up.

DGCA has changed a little bit for the better over these years...

Thanks to the valuable info provided . I hav taken out that NOC form frm the DGCA site bt hav little confusion about it , I mean there is one column in that form asking about forthcoming med date and place. Do i require to take Med date frm the medical centers b4 filling of this form and if it necessary to do it frm AFMC only or can i take Med date frm Max delhi as well. Actually they told me that they wil confirm Intial Class 1 date within a week frm the time of putting request. Any idea about it.

Thanks & Regards

PMR forwarding update

Hey all,

I have a class 1 renewal in 15 days, had sent the PMR fwding request to the DGCA approx 15 days ago.

However, the PMR forwarding status on the DGCA website is still not reflecting the new date.

So, the question is- is that updated once in a blue moon day? Could it be that my PMR has been forwarded but not updated on the website yet OR should I be worried?

Whats your experience about this? Advise..

I had a similar experience last year. the best thing to do would be to call and confirm if your file has reached there or not. i believe dgca are lazy on timely updates but I could be wrong

check the DGCA website, now you can also get your class one medical renewal done by some private doctors, the list and address with contact number is provided on the DGCA's website, you no longer need your pmr to be forwarded to the private doctor if you are getting the renewal done by one of the private doctors from the dgca list. ill pull out the link for you.

Please Advice

Hey all,

I have my Class I renewal coming up next month. I've been trying to get in touch with the Air Force Station in Chennai but haven't got a reply back from them. I've mailed them about 4 times and have tried calling them on the number provided on the DGCA website. What should be done ? I have already sent a request for my PMR to be forwarded.

^^^

How exactly did you manage to send a request to forward the PMR without getting a date at AFS Chennai ?

The Medical Section will only send the PMR 2 weeks prior to the medical date .
Without a date its quite likely that they wont send it......

Hey,

Should every fourth renewal be done at either AFCME, New Delhi OR MEC, Bangalore ? Please do let me know if you have any knowledge about it. Thank you.

Its very clearly mentioned on the DGCA website

(c) Renewals mandatory at IAM/ AFCME/ MEC(E). The following medicals will compulsorily be done only at IAM/AFCME/MEC(E):
(i) 4th renewal upto 40yrs of age,
(ii) 7th renewal after 40yrs of age,
(iii) All medicals after 60yrs of age and
(iv) Medicals after attaining age 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 yrs.

Been taking a look at the form, At the ENCLOSURES section -what if candidate doesn't have Indian Cpl. ?

http://www.dgca.nic.in/public_notice...ical%20NOC.pdf

Please advise.

P.S - are there any renewal centres in Mumbai or do I need to get this done from Delhi, b'lore or the other afcme centres. Its been more than 3 years since expiry of my class 1 medical.

thanks

I think you will have to do your Class 1 Initial medicals again. Please do cross check.

The centers for the Initial Class 1 medicals are provided in this link - CLASS II MEDICAL EXAMINERS LIST

If you're in Mumbai, you can get it done at Nanavati Hospital. Good luck.

Class 1 Medical DGCA

Yep thanks superfly , I spoke with the medical examiner and that's what he suggested too.

Hope it isn't as tedious as it was the last time.

CBS

Confirmation received from dgca medical cell.

Have to do initial class 1 again from either afcme, delhi, jorhat,or bangalore.

So this would mean I have to get a class 2 done first right ?
Also will all the reports and tests be conducted at the centre only or am I supposed to already have all my tests done ?

I dont think you have to do the class 2 again since you already have an expired class 1 medical

The class 2 medical is only for someone who has never held a class 1 before

I dont know about MEC Jorhat but IAM Bangalore and AFCME do all the tests in house and you dont have to bring in anything from outside .
Only if your tests show some result which causes them to investigate further would you might need to go outside and get it done ( eg : MRI scan )

Anyway they will let you know in advance

AFCME and MEC Jorhat reply via email

IAM Bangalore needs a written request with a Rs 50/- stamped self addressed envelope

Tell them you want to do the Initial medical ( not renewal )
