Hi ljt213,

congrats on your appointment. Well done.

Could you please give us a rundown on your recent interview? As it seems a lot has changed since interviews in the previous years.

thanks

Thanks ljt,

I have a fair idea of what to expect in most things you've listed there, except the advanced compass test. What does this entail? from my research there seems to be a lot of info on the basic compass test for cadets but not much on the advanced compass test.

thanks again and good luck !

Advanced COMPASS

The test included ATPL tech quiz, hand eye and foot coordination, working memory, multitasking, instrument comprehension and maths. I found the interview prep program for Cathay from latestpilotjobs.com a great help for this

I have been updating my profile for last 2 years , and do send an inquiry email
to [email protected] , but haven't got any reply from them .

TT-1825 Jet time 1275 . I notice that they usually reply to everyone on this forum , is it because they have already rejected my application and ie they don't respond !! ???

CXAE HR & Tech Interview

Hi all,

anyone that has been to AE Stage 2 please care to share or PM on the type of questions/topics during HR & Tech interview. Is it mainly HTBJ aerodynamic questions or has the format changed in recent times.

cheers.

Does anyone know specifically why there is always a significantly large intake of Aussie pilots each season in proportion to other global expat nationals for the AE program? Most intakes are generally 60% Australian, I've always been curious as to why this is.

Fleet allocation for SOs?

On average, what proportion of new SOs are allocated to the 748F, 777 and Airbus fleets? Are SOs ever given a choice/bid or is it random allocation? Also, once allocated, at what point can a pilot bid another fleet type?

Cheers

Lots of Aussies are taken because CX management and recruitment is dominated by Australians more and more. So they help their own out....

To answer the last poster re what fleet you go on and when you can change fleets - it's your luck on the day. Cathay pretends to give you a choice but it's not really the case as they routinely violate seniority when it comes to fleet choice and transfers.
