Eyesight

I have applied for Ground duty branch (non technical) branch. I have myopia -4.5.
Is it too much? Would be it impractical to sit for futher process even when I exceed the limit?

Don't worry if by that number your vision is coming to 6/6 means you are able to read the last which is the sixth line you will not have any problem in qualifying to clear the medicals

How to convert Italian medical class I in india

I hold a medical class I issued in Italy and I'm planning to go working for Indian Airline.
I'm 57 years old.
Do you know any special procedure for acceptance of my medical in India?
Do you know, in case I've to undertake indian medical check, which kind of exams I've to do there?

Thanks a lot to everyone.
Andrea.

Hi Andrea
You will have to get your class 2 medical done first. http://www.dgca.nic.in/medical/class2.pdf
This link has all the doctors listed. Check which one is appropriate for you.
After the medical tests, you’ll fill out forms and send them to Medical Cell in DGCA. To get your certificate will take some time. Mine took about 2 months.
Once you’ve that you would need to visit or call, DGCA Medical Cell and get a date for Class 1 Medical with your file number.
They can place you either in Bangalore or Delhi, depending on availability

Regarding Exams, you’ll have your urine test, sound detection, eye test, ECG. Similar tests to Class 2 medical but held at higher standards.

Since you’ve a class Medical 1, you might be eligible for a direct conversion if that is possible. I am not really sure on that. I would suggest you check with the DGCA itself.
Take Care

This issue of not clearing is caused by some overzealous doctors. Unless of course there is some other issue.
I would not recommend LASIK
But if you still want your eyesight to improve, You can try Sampoorn eye yoga at Bandra, mumbai. I know this works because of some references of this person from a friend who joined the Navy and one chap at work....

Hope this helps,

Cheers !
I have done my class 2 medical and I'm fit in it. But my eye sight is weak (-6L and -5R). Can I be fit in class 1 and for any airline.
