Angel

ANd the other thong is why are they looting 20000 Rs for a mere written test...Does it actually take 20000rs to print a few sheets. It could have been understood if they would have been doing so with the help of an external agency like CAE or Eaglejet...But thats not the case...Its really pathetic to see that airlines are into business of making money from jobless pilots...

All the time there will be pilots in this forum that will say influence.

If you sat on your lazy a** and never called airlines, and some people do, then that person is said to have "Influence". Really?

Then lets agree with you - YES, I went to the doorstep of the airline HQ and forwarded my resume in Hand, asked and went again and again (Persistent) so that they know i am interested, that would be called Personal Influence.

Some Random bunch of people, just because you fools wait for something to show up on website, you will not initiate. In fact you demoralize all the GENUINE Pilots on this forum by Making them think that All the way from Scratch to End is Governed by Influence.

Well, I do not have influence, but by "those" who say, Oh well they got in through Influence because THEY were called for written by influence, you leave all the sincere guys who believe they can too write the exam by application methods and not influence BY pushing them to the end of the cliff by saying "Influence" as if there was no other way of getting in except Influence.

For your kind information people - Jet Airways hired TCS - No Influence till the stage check.

Spice Jet - Whomever went to the HQ and submitted their resume "Chennai or Mumbai or Delhi" were called. I did so. I had zero influence.

So enjoy saying Influence like 10 thousand times, because I got in through Influence - what kind of Influence - haha - I went to HQ and met them - it would be called personal interactions Influence.

How are Spice guys making out with the DGCA Medical? Any word from Indigo or India Express expats? At Jet, so far we've had 7 of 8 guys downed by the so called medical examiner in Bangalore.

Are you referring to Class 1 renewals at IAM Bangalore? I've been trying to avoid them, as they have a trigger happy reputation for failing medicals unnecessarily according to rumors.

I am talking about the initial First Class Medicals for expats which was brought upon by a petition by SWIP and other Indian Airline Pilots Unions.

I am curious as to what the experiences of other expats have been.

As for myself, Im going to forego the medical and ride out my contract until the day the Indian First Class Medical Certificate is required to be carried on my person.

Thumbs down SpiceJet or LootJet is the Question

Spicejet is Lootjet today.
The exam is an eyewash, even as you mark the answersheet you leave enough scope for subsequent changes-they don't insist on marking with pen. Use of pencils, cutting, use of white fluid to erase are all allowed.
This exam is a money making scam.
The jobs may go to anyone on criteria other than merit.

Thumbs up

i had appeared for one of the indigo-cae exams and i was completely shocked the way results were announced, firstly they charged 375$ and the venue they had booked was a basement of some service center bldg, unlike the call letter which stated the address of a hotel, which i agree was 50 mts from the venue, exam timings were 10am to 12pm and they asked the candidates to come back at venue by 7pm for the results, which when we all reached were shocked to see that the clerk of that bldg. was standing with a blank sheet of paper with 4 names written on it declaring them as pass rest all failed 4 out of 73 and there was nobody from the management except the clerk so guys ...i really don't know what to say....just be careful as after seeing this i regret paying 375$...i hope even spice jet is not playing the same game...
Oh really ?

You just exaggerated the whole scene. I am ashamed you criticize CAE all the way. Your numbers are way over the top. Will not go into details, and secondly nothing like that had ever happened with the clerk and the names, unless you are mentioning Captain U as the clerk. Results were supposed to be out at 6pm, but Captain even said you guys can go home and they would email you the results. We all insisted till the end to be there, grateful they release the results, but it was up to us to stay or to not stay because he realized it was getting late. So give due credit to the man.

Now you all know what you were getting into. Prepare hard next time and then pay 375 USD. I am sure if you would have got through, you would have not criticized openly about the shams.

Just because you did not clear including me, please do not go all hell bent loose on criticizing an organization.

To all,

CAE tests you on your understanding of flight like human performance, flight performance. It wants to see you understand the material in and out. Prepare well and go.

Good Luck

@thearsenal so how exactly did your friends get through? Any idea? As in what material did they study to get through and all?

And well as far as indigo goes, there does seem to be some high level scam going on. However, it cannot be completelyy denieed that 1 or 2 odd ppl may have got in by sheer talent and merit. But yes d scam part is not all myth.

As for spice, well i don't know if it's a sham or not but it sure seemed disorganised.
They had it in some way out place that took hours & hours to reach. Took us in at 9.30am but kept us wating till afternoon. We had to wait 3 hrs for that 1 hr paper. No transparent roll nos. & 2 alloted serial nos. And despite alloted rooms everyone was sent to d upper stories until no room was left & others were eventually made to sit in their rooms. Even the timing and the marking methods of d paper were inconsistent.
A room assigned for 24 ppl to sit just had 12 benches and even though spice staffers were there, those who were invigilating the exam were some help hands or clerks from the venue itself and not from spice as i later found out. & so those guys didn't seem to have anyy idea about what they should be doing
e.g. From what I heard, in some room, A guy heard talking AFTER d exam was over was ticked off, marked and his name was noted. On the other hand in d same room some guy was allowed to take his notebook out and make notes of the ques paper by d so-called invigilator. This wasnt stopped until a spice official saw this and stopped it.

Exclamation

@Fly Zone: With all due respect buddy. I don't believe that the IndiGo exam is a scam. I know a lot of people, some very close friends, who have cleared the exam on merit and are now either flying with IndiGo or undergoing training in Madrid.
Obviously one can argue that people wouldn't openly admit that they have some kind of "jugaad" but then may be a few but not everyone! I agree that the management of the exam hasn't been the best because of which a few eyebrows have been raised but at the end of the day most of the people who cry foul are those who did not get through. The CAE exam is a very comprehensive exam which tests your in-depth knowledge unlike exams from most other airlines in India. Truth be told if you study well then nothing can stop from you clearing it

(Apologies for posting in the SpiceJet thread. Further discussions should be carried out in the IndiGo thread)
