We were told there are 110 pilots in our batch i.e. TFO2011. No timeline has been provided for joining of other batches. All they said is that they want to send one batch every month but then it depends whether they get Sim slots or not.

Base check involves flying the actual aircraft with a minimum of 6 T/Os & Landings.

A batch consists of 24 pilots. But since they couldn't get enough sim slots they couldn't manage to send the entire batch together. So a part of the 1st batch is leaving in April and a part is leaving in May.

@ P51 Mustang

Just wanted to know when does this base check takes place ? After Supi flying and before LOFT or at some other point of time.

I am given to understand tht they will start paying once we complete the base check , Just curious to know so that I can plan my finance accordingly and how much the stipend and salary will be.

CPL expiring 4th Nov'14. Must have 6 months validity on date of commencement of training. That means if my training does not start before 5th May 2014, will I be disqualified as DGCA will renew the CPL only 1 month in advance i.e Oct 2014. What to be done ?? and when is next batch likely to commence their training.

Yes, these checks take place between Suppys and Loft.

I was in the same situation, my license was to expire in May and our orientation was on 20th March. Got the necessary flights done, went to the DGCA office and requested them to consider my case even though there were more than 2 months to go for my license to lapse. Since it was genuine case they accepted my license, got it back in a weeks' time.
JA will not disqualify you, they will just put you either give you time to sort it out, put you in another batch or delay your training.
At this point there is nothing to be done since you don't have any communication from JA. Once you receive your Offer of Training, take a call at that time. Don't worry about this since there are plenty in the same situation. This is basically because the entire process took more than 3 years.

Hello Friends,

The interviews are underway and I believe that last one is on 4th April. Jet gave most of the ipt results yesterday (1 April). Any idea when they will start calling for medical and how long do we need to plan our stay in Mumbai for that?

Also, as there are around 100 candidates prior to 2013 batch who are to be inducted, when can the candidates from 2013 batch expect their joining to come.

Thanks

I am also in a similar situation as my license expires this october.
Could you please tell me as to what all you had to do to renew your license and also does jet want a current ir?

Thanks in advance.

sagoobadi:
There are 8 of us from the first batch of 24 who haven't received any information for our training. So waiting for that now.

RNP2:

To renew your license, you need to do a FAM flight, GFT day & GFT night. I got mine done in a day. These tests can be done within 6 months of expiry of your license. I don't think DGCA will renew your license prior to 2-3 months of the expiry date, but you can always visit the office and ask them whether it will be possible to get it renewed prior to that. Whoever needed the renewal done earlier than that was asked to submit the email from JA.

Current IR is not required. But you can always do it if you like.

Absolutely no idea how long they will take to start your batch. I believe they sent you the JA form in advance to check who all are up-to-date with their licenses et all.

Skyblade & juliet.alpha.yankee:

8 went on 5th April and the next 8 are leaving around 10th of May. The remaining 8 (including me) don't have any information yet.

P51-Mustang, Dont you think that the process is going sluggish. If 8 people are being sent in a month or 1.5 months, then, with this rate 120 people from previous batch would take around 15 months to absorb.

Needless to mention that there would be another 100-120 successful candidates from the July 2013 TFO recruitment by this month end.

Are their any hopes that the pace might improve???

Ya man, it's been extremely slow. When I hear about the TFO 2010 process, I wonder how can it be so different.

Can't say whether it will improve or not because the process has not been perspicuous. But the positive is that they are looking at beginning our training as soon as they find training slots.

Hmmmm... I am from the July 13 batch. Only ray of hope that I see is, if they can manage to tie up with 2 more TRTOs. Then the training could go simultaneous.

What is the name of TRTO where they are sending people right now in London?

Just came to know that bridge course for next batch of 8 people has started at Jet Airways in Mumbai. They will be familiarized with the basics of B737, related FCOMs etc so that they catch up with their training in TRTO. Also, Jet is trying to tie up with a TRTO in Dubai for initial training of pilots.
