@Holding Short

All in all, there is no fixed method of getting a pilot`s job. Its about pushing yourself ahead of the crowd. Landing a call to just 'write' an exam maybe very difficult.

And yeahh.. last but not the least.. DO NOT FORGET TO STUDY ! No use if you get a call and dont know anything !

Very Very well said bro!!!

can not be any less than absolute agreed with you...and the ones who already knew this logic before entering into this aviation, they are already enjoying their cockpits even in india....opportunity knocks everyone's door to check who's sleeping and who's not !!!
Cheers

Danger Get Real

Guys, its nice to see that you all are still keeping your spirits up but its time to be a bit realistic now. The batch has been SCRAPPED. I know its sad and I know its a reality a lot of us dont want to face but its true. Im saying this because Ive heard it from a reliable source and because its pretty evident. They are hiring type rated batch after batch and putting us on hold.Even the next batch will be of type rated pilots. This is happening not because it cant happen but because they dont want it to happen. There is a lot of politics in Jet and lets just say we are not the preferred lot. Start looking somewhere else and get your life back on track, waiting for something with so many contingencies is not worth it.

True. Lot of 'white envelopes' passed underneath the table...

Captains leave for the Gulf in search of greener pastures, existing first officers do whatever it takes to get that command and therefore, vacancies open which are taken by to children and kins of the influential...

And the cycle continues. Hard to believe, but it's the truth. As far as India goes, commercial aviation has always been, and will continue to be, the cup of tea of the rich/upper-middle-class...

@Pilotofthehour

Im just trying to apprise you of the situation. Whether or not you take it seriously is your decision. Many of us have accepted it and got jobs in other airlines but if you want to make fun of others then Jet might hire you by the time you have children.

Guys Please chuck the argument and get to the table to maintain the sanctity of this thread................So, the question .......Is Jet coming up with any vacancies for freshers or they would come up with vacancies for only the "elite" (Type Rated) guys

Well I believe we've got quite a large lot of type-rated guys still waiting to get off the ground. Looking at it from Jet's side I feel it would be more viable to pick up some from the rated lot but heck, you know how dynamic this industry is! All the best anyways...

Type Rated = Guys wit money

All this talk about taking in Type Rated guys over ppl who had gone through a written exam (among 4000 candidates approx.) and a grueling GD round is ridiculous. Well, ofcourse the only answer is that those guys who have TR got contacts.

To think that hiring a TR would be easier for Jet Airways or any other airline is an over statement. Everyone can undergo a TR, all you need is money. And how long does it take to take for a TR , a month or so.
