Thanks all
For the apt test, juz relax, read the instructions and keep concentrate.
Then everything will be fine.
I think its not difficult to get high mark IF you can keep concentrate~
So sleep earlier be4 the test.

Anakin,

Congratulations! I'm happy to know that!

Can you share with us how did u prepare for the numeric test and the apt test? Also, do you find the KA in-house listening test exceptionally difficult?

Thumbs up

Thanks Chase.

For numeric test, I did a lot mental maths calculations to speed up my process~

For the KA listening, its not difficult. Just rmb the main points in the passage~

Cheers

Aptitude test

I did the AT for the KACPP today, I feel like i scored reasonably well, I'm just wondering if anyone who has already taken this and successfully progressed to stage 3 would care to share the scores they got? In particular the final 'flying through the squares' test and the 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 tests?

Cheers guys.

i did some sampling with whom passed the apt test and worked out the bottom line:
Flying the square: you need to be improving with a score 6 or above.
3-Multitasking: no. of hits must be more than no. of miss.

Good luck everyone. hope to see you in 1st interview.

Hi there, I'm new to this forum! Took me a few days to finally finish reading this thread from start to finish. I took the IT on November 10 too and I just got a call today telling me to come to the AT tomorrow. I've read holdmetight's post on the AT, but I'm not too sure about the 2nd exercise about the positive/negative, right/left, and circle/square.

If the computer asks me to choose negative(not holding)/left/square, does that mean I have to choose all those people who're holding left circles, right squares, and right circles? Will there be people holding triangles or nothing at all too?

If it's Negative/Left/Square then you have to click the number out of 3 who are NOT holding a Square in their LEFT hand. The way I did it was whenever I heard 'Negative', I would convert it into positive (you have 5 seconds or so to do it).

EG: Negative/Left/Square = Positive/Left/Circle.

I did the AT on Friday (19th) and I received the call today inviting me to the initial Interview on the 2nd. My scores were generally quite good i think, i tended to have a hit:miss ratio of at least 3:1 or 4:1. However i flew through the squares pretty terribly and got 5,5,5. I'm guessing I've scraped it!

Can anyone share their experiences in the initial interview?

Cheers guys and good luck.

Jonny380,

Congratulations for passing the AT. I am sure you can do equally well, if not better, in the first interview.

May I know your scores in the 2-in-1 test and 3-in-1 test? Now that you have passed the AT, what do you think is the most crucial factor for passing the test? High score? Improvement throughout the attempts? Or other aspects?

Cheers and Good Luck

I think that the most important thing is to avoid scoring badly on all 3 attempts of a given section. I scored badly on the first attempt of one or two sections but always managed to improve. So overall I would say my scores were between average and high. Personally, I think the second most important thing is to improve your scores each time.

on the 2-in-1 task i think i scored something like 10 hits, 2 misses and the 3-in-1 task i scored 9 hits, 3 misses.

I'm trying to prepare for my HR interview but I don't think there will be anything too surprising. Can anyone post some of the more difficult questions they were asked in the HR interview?

Cheers

Jonny,

Thanks for your opinion. It really helps.

I haven't applied for the CPP but have been following the threads in this forum for some time. I think that you can find a list of questions regarding HR interview in the thread Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Programme (at the earlier posts of the thread). The list is not exhaustive, but covers most questions that would possibly be asked. Most of them are not technically-related. I believe the interview in KA is pretty much the same.

IMHO, the interviewers want to know more about you in the first interview. (Your background, you major in University, your personality, the reason that you'd like to be a pilot, your knowledge to the company, like duties of an SO, FO, etc.) It is important to show that you are a suitable candidate.

I believe you can make it. Just relax and prepare well before attending the interview.

Cheers

Jonny, great to hear that you did well on the AT and will go on to the 1st interview. I unfortunately didn't do well on flying through the squares. On my first attempt, I lost complete control of the flying. I did better on the 2nd attempt when I could fly through most of the squares. But my last attempt was similar to the first one. Oh well, we'll see how it goes.

By the way, I'm sure you'll do well on your interview, Jonny. Just have a great time.

Hi guys, just thought id say thanks to everyone that has posted in this thread as ive been going through the process myself, got through the IT and did the AT on tuesday and got a call back today asking my to go to the initial interview next week.

I cant imagine it will be too focused on anything but yourself as of yet. So im guessing as long as you know why you want to be a pilot and know the basics of the company etc it should be pretty simple.

I would like to know if anyone could share some info if they have any on the benefits of picking KA over CX? I have applied for both and im guessing that they will ask something about which would you prefer etc etc so would just like to gain some knowledge of the differences between the two AFTER passing the cadet course e.g. pay, benefits, i know about the long haul short haul flights and KA seems quicker to be promoted and fly quicker unlike that in CX.

Hello, everyone, I'm new to here, and now are prepareing DA CPP next year. About the Numeric Test of AT, can any brothers tell me what if I miss to press the button i.e the pattern is 499,494,489,485 (this time I forget the interval is 4 so I miss to press the button), will the voice continually read the remaining e.g. 499,494,489,485 followed by 481 (this time I find the interval is 4 then I press)? Or Once I miss to press the button, there is some signal to remind me and the voice will start to read again with other numbers?

Thanks a lot and let's move forward together :-)
