No, you will be doing it all again, a guy at mine was in the same boat as you. Reason is the recruitment process for AE has changed quite a lot now supposedly.
Only those that PASSED flight grading but were cut short by the law changes a few years ago got invited to stage 2 straight away.

1b

Thanks guys for all your useful information, has helped really a lot!!
I'm wondering whether 1b is 2HR people or 1HR+1pilot?
coz it stated it would include HR and tech questions
what level of difficulty would the tech Qs be??
could anybody shed some lights, thx!

Since I'm a Professional Musician. I went to a Music Academy for college rather than a regular 4 years University, and I have never done any kind of Science Subjects before especially Physics. Do I still stand a chance to get pass it?
You would be surprised who actually passes these days. Just learn the answers to the questions and you're in.

Hi all,

I was recently given the advice to apply for the advanced entry as a CASA PPL holder. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Its a requirement to have 250 hours and an ICAO CPL. PPL won't cut it.

May I ask if the ones who are invited to stage 1a are applying as a CPP or Advance Entry?

Also, for converting HK CPL, is it a requirement to have APTL written exam done from any ICAO state?

Hi,

Hope your flight grading is going well! are you applying as a cadet?

If so what is the batch number you were given? me and my friends had our grading in july and were assigned CP75 B5 but turns out we're the first ones in the course suggesting that you guys are most likely to be CP75 as well. Tell me as soon as you hear back and best of luck!

Kind Regards,

Aiden

What resources do people here recommend for improving my technical knowledge. I have no flying experience, does anyone know if they will still ask me technical questions?

1a Results

Yeah the 1a went good, the multiple choice paper was quite easy as everything you learn is already on the JKI that they hand out to you.

The compass aptitude test was alright as well, from the 7 parts i'd probably say the last part was the hardest (physics knowledge) but that being said it was all relatively okay. If you'd like you can pop me your email and I can send you all the revision material I used all the way up to flight grading.

Regards,

Aiden

Hi Aiden,

Congratulations on getting through all those stages. Did you use any aptitude testing softwares online like latest pilot jobs or skytest to help with your compass?

That would be very helpful if you can send it over to me! My email is [email protected] with 2 underscores.

Regards

Vincent

AE program?

Hmm, for anyone who is going for the Cathay AE program. Mind sharing where you guys take the CPL or training before applying for cathay?

I want to know where I can get educated on aviation.
