Hi everyone,

So sad, I failed at stage 1b and received an email of rejection.

There is one part of content I don't really understand.

Message:
"Should you wish to re-activate your application, kindly contact Ms. XX at [email protected] in six months time from the date of this letter and we will endeavour to review your application, with a view for you to re-commence the Cadet Pilot selection process."

Typically, a new application must wait for 12 months after rejection right? However this message confuses me.

Does anyone has any idea?

Cheers.

Sorry about the rejection notice.

What part of "six months time from the date of this letter" don't you understand?

If you do wish to reactivate your application, make sure you quote that letter, with its reference.

Best of luck for the future.

I see what ur concern is.

6 months means u were not quite ready to move to stage 2 yet. But because u did well overall, your reapply period is shorten from 12 to 6 months. U almost passed the 1b interview.

Use this 6 months time to review ur weak answers during interview.

U almost made it through so don't need to be too sad, next time u will be better, right?

Regards

6 Months Change

@chris186

@jasonlau803

I don't know if the "12 to 6 months" thing you mentioned is correct. For my third attempt, I got rejected after Stage 1A and also received a 6 month wait period. My first attempt I got into Stage 1B and failed and received a 12 month wait period (this was when they were still doing the WOMBAT instead of the COMPASS).

I don't know if I read it here in this thread or somewhere else but I read that CX is increasing their demand for Cadet applicants, which may be a reason for the change to a shorter waiting period.

If you can't understand an email of when to reapply, then please don't apply.

Not that hard to understand the difference between 6 months and 12 months is it?

Normally, the waiting period is only 6 months if you fail in 1a.

If they tell you to reapply after 6 months, reapply after 6 months, simple as that. Debating on 6 vs 12 months isn't going to help you pass the second time around.

Any applicants from London?

Hi All, managed to read some of the posts here and it is extremely helpful,
so firstly and huges thanks to all.

Is anyone from the UK got their 1A on the 29th September??? contact me if you do please would be good to have some to prep with.

Could anyone recommend some good books to help prepare with the compass aptitude tests?
I've completed and passed aptitudes tests before but that wasn't for the avaiation industry. But want to be as well prepared as possible, so figured books on the train while travelling to work will be a good choice, so can anyone help? or point me in the right direction?

If anyone has passed the 1A and 1B please get in touch, I would love to hear about your experience and what to expect etc... Thank you.

Any help will be hugely appreciated,
Cheers all.

Kind regards,
Will.

Will,

Try google "sky test". It's quite similar to the "compass" test used by Cathay.

And also try read up more aerodynamic and principles of flights resources online for the JKI test in 1A. The booklet is not really enough for u to pass the test. Go search FAA website there's a free aeronautics theory book in there. If not, many online source also have ATPL theory books around. Just focus on aerodynamics as meteorology and u will be good for JKI test.

Will,

Sorry to clarify, the booklet CX sent u to study for JKI is not enough. Hence I recommend to study extra from more sources. Try also to google "ppl ground school". They also have some theory PDF to study
