Some updates for those of you who went ape**** about me emailing the CEO, apparently a wholly owned subsidiary emailed me for the initial tests. Looks like I was blacklisted and will never be able to get a chance again ( note the sarcasm).

Although, I must thank this forum for making valid points about the CX cadet program. Such as, being a relief pilot and not being able to do any real flying for quite a while and log hours but as far as pilot cadetships go they are only offered by CX or KA in HK. You have to live with what you get in the beginning.

Between the two given the choice I would pick KA over CX because you get to actually fly sooner.

Seems to me Medium, you don't have the choice to choose between the two.

Mr/Ms KA recruitment guy/gal "so this guy wasn't suitable to eat sandwitches in ours sister airlines cockpit, maybe we should give him a go operating ours" ???????????

I also missed the photos of your place with elderly parents and family that you are planning on supporting through this "dream that you've always had".
Waiting with baited breath.

Yes, I failed the CX cadet program and might fail the other one too. That's why I used the an "if" , so I'm assuming you have never failed at anything in your life and we should all follow your great example.

I will not provide any pictures etc for privacy reasons obviously but you are welcome to provide yours for sharing. As a matter of fact yes I do eat sandwiches and still do. I am happy that I can afford to eat, get a roof above my head and aim for the things I wish to reach. Are you somehow hinting that you are a better human being just because you have better food? Wow man, talk about ****** up.

I suggest taking a trip down to Ethopia or Africa and re-evaluating your take on life. Just because you earn more paper, eat better food or live in luxury does not make you any better a man than another.

I choose to improve myself in every aspect of life but I don't go judging other people because of what they eat or how their lifestyle is. One day you might face difficult times too, but rather than doing something about it you will still go bitching about it and discouraging others.

Para 1.
Sure I think that's a great thing to aspire to, I seem to recall you saying somewhere about positive outlook, does this not fit into that catagory?

Para 2-4.
You obviously haven't done your research on the job of an SO very well. Ops A para 8.1.4.3.7 Job of an SO point # 1 - "Must try to consume all the sandwitches prior to take-off". So your social commentary was completely irrelevent. I too like sandwitches, I just don't get the opportunity to eat them that often.

Ask and thou shall't receive.

dolphinsky- read the last few pages and you will understand. Basically I failed the CX aptitude test and wrote to the CEO for a better explanation on which part I failed etc. The guys here said I would be blacklisted and damned to hell for the rest of my life for it but I got the email for initial test for KA yesterday (CX and KA have the same CEO).

byebyebaby- I won't be replying to ignorant idiots and do not wish to have anything to do with people of your sort that like to consider themselves above the rest. In to what context you take your job or your food I could care less. Good day.

@mediums

Um...

Patrick Yeung
Dragonair, CEO

John Slosar
Cathay Pacific, CEO

CX and KA have the same CEO
Really?

Mediums - having completely vindicated recruitment's decision to decline your "services" by your contacting the CEO, you once again fire from the hip (or is it prematurely?) and publicly demonstrate your inability to do the most basic of research.

Honestly - this may not be the right vocation for you.

I admit an honest mistake, John Slosar should be the chairman of KA not CEO. Anyhow both the companies are linked anyways. Yes I am trying to find out if this is the vocation for me for not. Thx for your input and info.

John Slosar isn't the chairman either.

Chris Pratt is the chairman. Don't write to him.

i understand that u really are into this career, but i think writing to the ceo just because u failed is a bit too much, and kind of immature to me..

More info?

Hi, thanks for your great post. Do you know where I can find all that detail with the current agreement and if it's on a CX site or hardcopy?

Cheers.

Chesty: there are 250+ pages on this thread. It's all here. Why have you not bothered to read through it all? So the question has to be asked, even if sent to you, will you read the information and properly digest with respect to all the other issues debated on this forum? Or like the other genius here will you compare a pilot's salary to what you could earn working at McDonalds & therefore judge it as a good thing? Will you want to consider the long term issues and ramifications of what C-Scale means to your life, career and what you're condoning?

Yes, it's a rumour network..... but join the dots. While this is outside of the box thinking for the average wannabe posting here, have you tried calling CX HR and asking someone in a position to give 100% factual information?

Another tip: don't email or call the CEO or Chairman.

@chesty

With your alias and preference for "mammals", I can almost guarantee you that the ladies in HKG will be a disappointment. Just saying...

Chesty could be female. There are lots of lady pilots up here already. Maybe the nom de guerre is a self-description.

Hey guys, I'm new to this website and I have a lot of questions.
I recently passed my stage 1 interview, going to the stage 2 in couple weeks. They mentioned it will be Group Exercises, Fight Planning Exercises and Panel Interview. 2nd day will be Medical Exam and ICAO English Exam.
Do you know the detail of each of them?
And how many more stages are there after this??
Thanks!!
