Hello guys,

I have been reading this thread for a while and I still feel so lost... I still have so much to learn about the process...

I'm planning to send in my application before the end of the year. Anyone else in Australia doing the same?
Is there any study group I could join?
Does anyone have some tips?

Cheers,
Oana

Hi guys, I humbly passed my 1a. What can I rote learn for my flight grading? What is the exact power setting for base? I hear the instructors have really high standards.

Humble,
There is no flight grading anymore but a computer-based test.
I dun know the details of the test.

Hey Humble!

First of all, congrats and well done!
Second, Was your technical MCQ exam based on PHAK theory? If so, was the exam really hard? I am just curious

Just out of curiosity, what did they put in place of flight grading? Always thought that was one of the most important aspect of the selection process, or is this part of CX's cost cutting plan?

Right to Abode vs Land

Hey guys,

I currently have a Right to Land status on my HKID. Would that automatically disqualify from the selection process? As far as I am concerned, RTL is basically ROA minus the right to vote and possible deportation for serious crimes. I still have the right to work/live in HK without a visa.

Thanks!

That's one tricky situation, your best bet is to call Cathay requirement department to clarify the situation before you go ahead with your application, I wish you all the very best and hopefully you will be ok. Good Day

Hello All! I was just trying to apply, but after I input basic details and get to the page for further personal information, there is no selection for Cadet Pilot. The selection only includes Second Officer, First Officer, and Simulation Trainer. Am I doing something wrong?

Appreciate any help thanks!

Study Group

Hi everyone, I was an active member few years ago when I was preparing my cadetship. I've completed my training and now working as a Second Officer. I think it's a good chance for me to give my help to someone who wants to be a pilot. Leave a an email or message if you wish to form a study group or get some advice before your interview.

My email: [email protected]

Cheers

Hi everyone,

I have submitted my application on 28 Dec but still can't hear anything from the recruitment. Is anyone encountering the same thing?

I don't think it's related to my profile, as I have my first solo, yaa and dacp with me so I should deserve an apt test

Hi whiskeywiskey,

As far as I know, the progress of selection depends on number of parameters like backlog of candidates, NY, CNY, or even connected with what you filled in application. Also, there is nothing called DESERVE an interview or invitation. Be patient mate
