Hi Guys,

Received an e-mail from Flight Crew Recruitment yesterday asking me to complete an attached Hong Kong CAD form 'Declaration of Flying Experience for Grant of a HK CPL. Has anyone else received this? If so, what was the next step.

Thanks in advance, wishing everyone all the best.

Hey there Rodrigues,

I also received the same letter as you couple of days ago.
Also wondering if anyone else got this before interviews? and if it actually means anything?

Good day.

It means you fill it out and send it back. If you meet the min requirements of aeronautical experience you will probably get offered an interview.

I'm not overly confident as I'm a couple hours short on night and don't yet an have Instrument Rating (which I didn't think was a pre-requisite for the AE course). I previously sat Stage 1 a couple of years back.

Are all interviews done in HK, or will the initial still be in your home country? If HK, do they cover the cost of getting over there? All ambitious questions.

One thing that I can't seem to find in here (Current info, anyway), is the outline of the new package, renumeration etc. I've just read the usual slandering of it, but no actual figures of salary etc. Does anyone have this?

Thanks pilotchute for getting back to me/us.

Would I be correct to assume you get taxed 15% on the above figure of $49,847?

thanks

invitED,

Are you sure this is correct? That rate seems a bit too high for a first year SO considering the negativity surrounding the remuneration package offered. Can anybody else shed any light?

Stage 2-3 cadet pilot interview

Hey guys,

I have passed my stage 1 cadet pilot interview recently. My date and detail of following assessments are not confirmed, and the e-mail stated it will be final assessments next. I am overseas candidate.

My question is, when they say my next round is final assessments, does this means stage 2 and 3 are combined together? Or do I have to come back HK two more times.

Thanks!

Hey CX238,

Earlier posts suggest that CX would combine stage 2 and 3 together as a two days event for non-HK residents, such that you don't need to travel back and forth twice.

p.s. Did you have your first stage interview in the UK or in HK?

Good luck!

Aerohk,

Thanks for your info. I applied uk as first perference, but 1st stage was at hk. I dont think they run interviews outside hk nowadays.

Hi homanjay how long have you waited for them to schedule your stage 2? I passed the 1b but have been waiting for the confirmed date for a month already

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone is able to give advice on current books to read/prepare for the interview process.

I've discovered the following (from research) are helpful. 'Ace the Technical Pilot Interview', 'Preparing for your Cathay Pacific Interview', 'Handling the big jets'.

Does anyone know where you can get a copy of the 12th edition for "Preparing for your Cathay Pacific Interview". I've done the Google search and either sold out or not available.

If someone has one and willing to sell it on I'd consider that.

If you're already in the MT position, you'd better make up a convincing reason to show the HRs you are NOT going to change your mind again.

If you're still in the application phrase of MT, then good luck! its more difficult than CPP
