Yes I know about these low hour pilots Semper Fi. Most of them are flying with LCCs in Europe. These people pay for their own type rating and on some occasions pay for their 500 hours as well.
If Cebu Pac will adopt this then their minimum requirement for hiring FO's will be 200-250 hours. If they would really go this low, I'd like to hear what their insurance company would be saying.
Hopefully they ( CIA )can live up to their end of the bargain otherwise these kids would end up with a huge debt without a job.

it's nice to know that with CIA in operation soon, more options are laid before aspiring pilots. the tuition is a bit hefty but we know nothing comes without a price these days... and without risk for that matter. even PAL avschool does not guarantee any of its trainee a slot in the line and there had been casualties in almost every batch lately. careerwise, i would have considered going for it too had it been already there couple of years ago though i don't regret the SO experience with PAL. in the end, it's just a matter of choosing between rigorous flying on the 320 or a fairly easy SO job on a widebody. good deal either way. good luck guys!

Clark says that you get a 320 type rating after the MPL.
MPL comes from ICAO.
So you guys says that ICAO certs are not valid, or Iam wrong, if so , correct me.
I understand that Clark is a business , but they cant run a school without CAA approvment.

i agree with fabbe_far as far as i know mpl is already certified by ICAO. as a matter of fact the first batch of mpl cadets will be produced by alteon in queensland australia. they had stated last nov or dec 2006 and it is also said that the students in the 1st batch is sponsored by diff chinese carriers.
corrections are welcome

Recurrent training for Cebu pac pilots in Clark? Is this true? Waaaah! No more dollar savings! Waaaah!
CP air pilots used to do their recurrent trng in Minneapolis when they still had the DC-9s. When the baby buses came, the recurrent was moved to GECAT, HK. These trips were something that we all looked forward to - per diems, Mall of America, the snow, Hooters...
Sorry guys, those were the good old days! But you can still have fun in Angeles. Try one of the bars along Fields Avenue. Lots of exotics girls there.
Happy hunting!!!

Additional orders
I guess Cebupac has just recently made purchase order worth $1.3B of additional A319/320. 10 are firm orders while 5 are options...and should the 5 options become firm orders, they will add an additional 5 options.
So all you enthusiasts who are willing to cough up P1.8M for your training, this maybe your chance.
Although I may have some hesitations about very low-time FOs flying big jets, one thing I come to realize is that it's all about foundation in one's training. Experience does play a big role in how one performs, but it's how you do in your first 300 hours that will determine what kind of a pilot you are...any flight time you get thereafter is simply time-building and does nothing to improve you except for the occasional "hmmm I didn't know that was possible" or "well that's something new" experience.
Let's face it, when will you ever do chandelles, lazy eights and all those other maneuvers except during training.
But once again, it's all about getting good training...and hopefully CIA does have that.
So for all you high-time pilots who fear flying with a low-time pilot, you may want to consider your own abilities...and who knows, these low-time pilots may actually have better basic fundamental flying capabilities than you do.
BUT...and I mean BUT, for all you guys that are inspiring to be commercial airline pilots, you may want to consider your age because if your between 18 to 24 years of age, chances are you still don't know your head from your ass...in short, you are not mentally mature for airline jet flying.
So if your young and you want to start out early, you can forget about the partying, boozing, the women or sticking your finger in your nose, because flying is no joke and requires lots of discipline and mental preparedness...I have had lots of friends die flying because they were just not prepared.
So cheers to everyone and hope that this has helped a bit. Just my two cents worth.
