Hey, i got an invite to the preliminary interview on 25/26 of May on 1st April. I was wondering how many emails have you received by now? I replied the email choosing my location of interview at KL and in the email it says more information will be provided at a closer date but i'm anxious as what to do now other than preparing.

Hello guys. i'm new here. I got the invitation for preliminary interview last week and i chose Kuala Lumpur (6&7 July 2019) as my preferred location/date for interview. Anyone going for it on the same date?
And for those who had gone for/passed the interview, can you share your experience here? I would really appreciate it if you can give some tips as well. This is my first time applying for cadet pilot ab initio programme. Thanks in advanced!

Hi,

Congrats to everyone who have received the invitation for preliminary interview. I have some questions and also need a favor from those who manage to get called for the prelim interview.

Questions:
  1. Do SIA consider & accept female applicants for their cadet pilot program? Really need to know from those who have made it through if they know for sure whether females can be considered and accepted into the program. Will greatly help if this can be clarified.
  2. If you have done LASIK will it somehow affect your applications negatively? (given that 6 months have passed at least after LASIK)
  3. What is the maximum age allowed to apply for the cadet pilot program?
I really need answers for above, and need a favor from candidates who have got the interview invitation to share their CV/resume. Please kindly PM me! All the personal information can be removed, I would only wish to see the format and compare my qualifications.
This is because I have applied many times but kept getting rejected and I would like to analyze/make comparison in order to improve the chance for my next application. I'm a female aspiring pilot and therefore I'm afraid if the reason why I don't get called for the interview is solely because SIA does not accept female applicants.

Hi fnr.

Will try to ans as much as I know.
1. Yes, females are definitely accepted as well.
2. They will ask for your eye surgery report and probably do more detailed medical examinations on your eyes. Generally, LASIK is fine but do take note that as specified in SIA website, your myopia/astigmatism degrees prior to your LASIK must also fulfill their eyesight requirement. They are very strict on this.
3. There is no official numbers for maximum age. So far, the oldest I have seen is 31yo.

Unfortunately i am unable to help you with the CV.
A small advice to consider including a cover letter in your application.
All the best.

Hi All, I am from HK and previously in the final round interview of CX cadet.
Just wondering if SIA are open to the application internationally?

I have tried to do some researches and the answer is very confusing. See if anyone can help to clarify on this.

Thank you.

Hey man, congratulations on being accepted! I've cleared CAAS Class 1 medical and I'm currently waiting for my SIA medical clearance.

Was just wondering, how long after you cleared your CAAS Class 1 medical did SIA give you the email/call that you got accepted?

SIA gave me the call after about 3 weeks from date that I passed my Class 1 medical. A detailed email was sent after about 2 weeks from the call. Hope this helps
