Titles and Acronyms old and new

As the thread title says I'm interested in finding the meaning of some old service titles, acronyms and abbreviations etc. One which has me puzzled is, CS(A). If anyone's came across this before I would be obliged if you could tell me what it means.

Many Thanks,

FB

Thanks KPax, but the abbreviation I've come across dates from 1946, I believe it is, or was, an Air Council appointment. I've a feeling given the context I've seen it used in the bracketed A may stand for Accounts.

Gentlemen,

Thank you very much, that's comprehensively answered my question. I've come across some which I believe are long since defunct. AMSO, AMTS etc. I don't believe we have a DCAS any longer or a DGO?

Best wishes,

FB
