If my explanation is right, then it doesn't matter. As long as the anchor doesn't touch the bottom, the whole thing is supported by water, so it has the same displacement regardless of the shape....

More flaps means less Vref thus slightly higher bank angle needed to keep no crab. Furthermore, the flap fairings are closer...
