@ Smott999

I'd hazard a guess at #1 or #4 engine spooling down along with its generator.

Barometric only presumably and unlit.

CVR recording duration

I totally agree. 30 mins with recording over the previous section is of potentially ZERO use when looking at 'in flight upsets' that are recovered and the flight...

sTeamTraen, the BBC are still incorrectly calling the plane a BAe 146 though instead of an RJ85 along with many other media sources. Why don't they check ?

battery maintenance

twincommander, I can only concur with your comments. Earlier in the thread someone posted a list of instruments that would still be available after generator loss. I'm unclear if that was for a 146...

twincommander, good point about the batteries. An old friend worked on the 146 for a time and mentioned that it had a hefty Nickel Cadmium pack, unsurprisingly, given one of its original rough field,...

Elevators, operation thereof

AIUI, bafanguy has it 'spot on'.

The elevators respond to the trim tab, not the control column at rest and a ground walk-around won't help you.

Regardless of whether this was a nut that dropped...

NOMANSNEMISIS, I was going to make very similar comments to your own. In fact I think you did a more thorough job of it.

KenV should stop banging on about irrelevant other uses of TCP. PLEASE Ken...

THE TOXICITY OF COMMERCIAL JET OILS

Ancient Observer, I agree with all your points 1-5. The problem is that no-one wants to be responsible for what might prove to be a 'can of worms' I suspect.

Some research has been done here and...
